We arrive on a Thursday night/Friday around 12:30 am on American. We will only have carry on. We are going to be tired & want to hit the bed as soon as possible. We will have a hertz rental car & be staying at one of the airport hotels (probably Marriott Springhill Suites). Will it be quicker to get the airport shuttle & mess with getting the rental car in the morning? Or will getting a rental car at that time of night not be too bad?

Personally, I'd do it in the morning. Unless you are an elite member at Hertz, the service there is pathetic. Long lines and not enough staff. Hertz refuses to use kiosks like National or Alamo because they want the agents to be able sell all the expensive stuff you do not need. I'd been told by the representatives there that a high degree of rentals are Hotwire and Priceline.

Thanks. I am 5* with Hertz & will be using points for the rental.

If that's the tier where you just read your name off a board and find your car, you'll be fine. Last time I arrived and rented after midnight it took about fifteen minutes from J concourse domestic to hitting the streets in a Hertz Corvette.

Great. Thank you. I will plan on doing that & hope we can get checked into the hotel & fall asleep quickly.

I quick thing. Double check that your hotel has free parking if you decide to get the rental car that night. Some airport hotels charge for parking.
