I will be getting Borenstein Kosher Meal(Dinner/Breakfast) on my SFO-FRA flight on Lufthansa and I know they cater to El AL. I was wondering how was your experience with these meals? From what I heard Borenstein meals taste better than Regal/KoshAir and are just as good as Hermolis.
I have had some good meals on El AL from JFK-TLV-JFK in Coach and I was amazed at the quality and quantity of my Dinner/Breakfast/Lunch on my flights. I had an amazing Blintz dish and a hot omelet meal on LY served with Libne, Muslix Bar, Chocolate snacks(like a cereal). The dinner came with hot bread and hummus and an excellent hummus and turkey entree. I seriously could have had this meal at a cafe on the ground it wasn't that bad.
Now I know LY has had some bad rap on Airlinemeals.net but I wanted to hear your experience with Borenstein. While I am not religious I request the Kosher Meal as its much better than the regular meals and I can get it before the other people.
Thanks for your replies.
Bornstein vs. Regal are almost the same but Bornstein vs. Hermolis, Hermolis is by far a better product arguably the best kosher meal product out there; in quality quantity and presentation so if you have a way of getting a Hermolis meal on board grab it hands down

Unfortunately Lufthansa only caters Borenstein but I have no problem with that as at least it will be good. But the good news is on Brussels Airlines from BRU-TLV they use Hermolis as their Kosher Y Meal. I have had Hermolis meals and agree with you that they are the best KSMLs out there.

Lufthansa serve pretty good regular meals.
It's AA and CO that serve the worst meals. Next time I fly AA I will order Kosher or Muslim.

First of all thanks for all of your replies. In my opinion Lufthansa has really good KSMLs over United, Delta etc. I am looking forward to trying out the Hermolis meal on Brussels Airlines this Friday from BRU-TLV.
I find that by requesting the KSML you get more food and better quality.

I think you're mistaken here, as I think Brussels airlines use a Belgian company called "Stogel".
Make sure to let us know.

Something to consider is that LY's meal will be better than the KSML on LH because LY can serve the meal fresh, whereas LH will have it packaged. As great as they can make a meal, nothing beats serving it properly.

You're crazy. CO has one of the best KSMLs out there! UA, with KoshAir, maybe. But CO's Regal meal is fantastic. (And Hamasbia ex-TLV is similar to most carriers.)

You seem to have misunderstood the op, he meant to say that the regular meals aren't good while the kosher ones are.

When I last flew in SN BRU-TLV a few months ago, it was indeed Hermolis - the standard dinner meal, quite good.

Ah, gotcha. People seem to like the BF meal on CO. Don't know about Y. But I've heard terrible things about AA in F/C.
