Midwest - Is STL always bad on Monday mornings?

I've taken a 6:00AM Monday WN flight out of STL twice now. Both times the security has been an absolute nightmare. It took ~35-40 minutes this morning to get through.

Is this normal? I only have two data points so far, but it's not looking good. I've been considering making this a pretty standard trip for me but if security is always this bad I may reconsider.

Thanks!

I often fly out of STL between 7 and 8:30 and I find that security at both terminals is usually pretty fast. That said, the WN terminal seems prone to longer lines than the other terminal. I've never waited more than 15 minutes at the other terminal. On a few occasions I've waited 30+ minutes at WN.

I've found the A gates to be a mess on Monday mornings. It's too congested and the layout isn't very efficient - the lines vary far too much in size.

Southwest terminal is always a disaster, I think because there are millions of noobs flying daily.

Short answer...Yes.

^ Pretty much. The first time at STL on a Monday morning for a 7 am flight resulted in me running to the gate. I always allow extra time now.
