Thanx!
As you can see, Sofwedog was unaware of it, as well!
Sofwedog --
It appears that we CAN take advantage of it! TravelManKen reported that it was good for BOTH Diamonds AND Golds!
We can await others who post to this thread, but in the interim, I suggest that you go to the thread re obatining a new Gold Card, as this new promo was buried in that thread about 1/2 way down!
I am sure that there are others like you an me who were unaware of this promo!
Thanx Bourne and TravelManKen, as well as all the other contribitors to that thread who brought this to light!

Just got off the phone with HH and got some additional information (pardon if this has already been said)
1st stay w/i 90 day period - 5,000 pts
2nd stay w/i 90 day period - 10,000 pts
3rd stay w/i 90 day period - 15,000 pts
4th stay w/i 90 day period - 20,000 pts
For a grand total of 50k. So, looks like even if you don't complete all 4 stays you still get bonus points.
Hope this is helpful.

I just got off the phone with HHonors where I was able to sign up for the EWRDC bonus points program even though I am already a GOLD HHonors member.
50,000 bonus points after 4 stays http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
The HHonors agent who signed me up didn't seem to be so sure of himself regarding EWRDC, but supposedly I am now signed up. I'll probably check again later today to make sure that I am really signed up.

Are there any catches to this new promotion to current Gold Card members? Do prior "stays" within the past two weeks count?

I called and signed up. The operator told me that the entry of the code caused me to revert to Gold (I'm actually Diamond). She confirmed that I would get the bonus points commencing with my next stay. A check of the website after I hung up confirmed that I now appear as gold.
I am going to leave it that way for the duration of the promotion, get my 50M points, and then call HHonors to have them correct my status. Anybody else have an alternate fix?

As much as I This whole promo is so strange. I called without a code regarding to en email from e-rewards and was upgraded right away. My wife called an hour later and needed a code. We took the BT2YM for 4 stays w/i 90 days for gold VIP. Today I called for my best friend and asked the csr what was going on, complaining that my friend allready has been upgraded without the four stays. She was such a nice woman and told me, that several DIFFERENT promotions were send out. So I suggest, try without any code. If it doesn´t work, call again and use the BT2YM code.
BTW: there is another code EWRDS going around. As much as I know, it gives you Silver VIP after TWO stays w/i 90 days.
Have fun

For the other recent fast track promos, I was warned the same thing but that never happened.
I did after all get to take advantage of the 50k and keep the diamond status the entire time...

For those of you who would like to know this is taken directly from the webpage referenced by Tulane:
"If you're already an HHonors member and would like to take advantage of this offer, call 1-800-548-8690 and mention the promotion code EWRDC.
Hurry! You must enroll by June 1, 2001."

So does anyone know if we can use upcoming stays to count towards both the Fast Track and e-rewards promos? Meaning one stay might net you the 10,000 bonus for the first promo and the 5,000 bonus for the second promo.
I'm cautious of signing up for this one because I'm already enrolled in the Fast Track -- I don't want to mess up a good thing!

Doc2Be,
I hope I can answer your questions as I have been with Erewards for close to three months now.
It is a program that pays you to read email. Content wise, it is much better than other websites in its class. Once you’ve enrolled, you’ll receive personally relevant e-mail messages with special offers. You’ll earn e-Rewards ( redeemable cash ) simply by reading and reacting to the e-mail messages you receive. There’s no purchase necessary.
I guess you would have to create an account if you cannot log into the erewards account with the current info.
Some of its travel partners are Delta, United, Hertz and now Hilton. Airline awards are primarily dollar based vouchers. Here is a link that has a detailed list of awards.
http://www.e-rewards.com/redeem/body.asp
In the past three months, I have earned around $40. It barely takes a few minutes to respond to emails and surveys but earning is a slow process. It is promotions like these that are more lucrative.

Well, my experience is that I have not gotten SQUAT out of e-rewards. I had to give up all kinds of very personal information, which I was not happy to have to do, and I have gotten maybe one email and since I didn't buy what they were selling, I made about ten cents I think. That's it! E-rewards only had a handful of partners when I signed up and think that it is either experiencing growing pains, or I am not the type of consumer they are looking for.

Thanx for the response! I guess, though, that I don't have to join e-rewards to obtain the promo benefits if I satisfy the stay requirements.
That is why I didn't bother with the e-mail to me in the first place, although, I don't think that the lucrative 50,000 points was attached to MY offer!

I signed up for this promo this morning. I just checked my HHonors account and I received retroactive credit for a Hilton stay on the 9th of April. I paid with a VISA. I am currently a Gold HHonors member.
I didn't receive retroactive credit for a stay I had on the 2nd of April though. I wonder if I should call HHonors and request retroactive credit for that stay, or should I just be happy with retroactive credit for the one stay?
I have been staying at a Sheraton lately (for no reason other than to qualify for SPG Platinum status) but I will definitely stay at a Hilton property at least four times within the next 90 days to make sure I qualify for the 50K bonus points.

A few points of clarification - as I know them:
1. 48 Hours after I signed up I received retroactive credit for all 3 stays I had in the month of April - 5k, 10k, 15k. For a total of 30k bonus points.
2. I'm a Diamond and my status did not change
3. I paid for one stay with a Visa and two stays with an AMEX - you don't need to pay for your stays with a Diner's Club card
4. I am not a member of E-Rewards, I just used the code.
5. My wife has never stayed at a Hilton in her life under her own HHonors number - she is now a gold.
I hope this helps.

Okay, amateur question from someone not too into the hotel programs (although those nice Hilton / Starwood Gold cards that come through the mailbox are all very nice!) - what does 50K points get me? Seems like it's a waste to transfer to miles - only a little over 10K miles in most programs.

As an example, it would get you three nights at any Executive reward category hotel (http://www.hilton.com/hhonors/rewards/executive.html). For more information see this (http://www.hilton.com/hhonors/rewards/hotel.html).
100K points combined with your VIP status would get you 6 nights in Hawaii (ALON reward) or 6 nights at almost any Hilton worldwide (with the exception of Premium reward category properties), GLON reward.

Charles and Doc,
The two year gold status is for the Starwood promotion--not the Hilton promotion. The Starwood Gold promotion is still valid.
1) Instant Gold Status for new Starwood members only. Gold Status is good for two years (feb 03).
2) 5,000 Bonus Starpoints if you complete 5 stays before July 31. This promotion can be combined with any other promotion Starwood is offering--including the free weekend promotion.
3) Any Starwood Platinum can give you the promotion code and phone number to register. Email me if you want it...

OK,I see one minor "problem" here. It looks like people are getting retroactive credit for stays in April for this promotion. Now, if a person had the last couple of stays for the BT2YM promotion during April, the computers would probably give double bonus points, and, as we all know, Hilton doesn't particularly like that... Any solutions to this?

My two April stays were well after my four stays for the previous bonus, so that's not the problem. It's tough, because I went ahead and enrolled now instead of waiting and giving myself more time because I was hoping for the retroactive credit for 4/11 and 4/14 stays. Either the CSRs are subjectively doing this or it is done electronically and I didn't really get registered maybe.

I received retroactive credit for April 7th, but did not get credit for a stay on April 3rd. I called about getting credit for the 3rd and was told by the CS that he would enter it in the computer. I don't know what that means. The points have not shown up and I called 3 days ago.

I got retroactive credit for a stay that had finished before I signed up for this promotion, but it seems the only case where this happens (at least automatically) is when the stay has not been registered by HHonors at the time you sign up for the promotion. The 4 subsequent stays (apparently, in the order of registration with HHonors, irrespective of date of stay) are credited the promotional bonus points.

I'm not sure what you guys are saying about retroactive credit for stays made but not yet posted. Here was my experience. Two stays, 4/11 and 4/14. Both posted at least a week ago. Signed up on Tuesday and on Thursday night, I got retroactive credit for both April stays. So, in my case even though the stays had been made and posted already, I still got retroactive credit. Hope this helps. Oh, and as someone else said, it does seem to take 48 hours for the credit to show up.

Any solutions to this? [/QUOTEE
Exactly that has ocurred to me I stayed at the HHV April 19/20 which completes my BT2YM
I signed up for the EWRDC on April 24th today I checked my account and found that points have been added for THE SAME STAY for both conquests.
Not too worried that they will take the EWRDC first 5000 away though since I will make 4 more stays within two weeks.

Please verify whether or not I am on the right course. I am registered for the 50k promo, and have an upcoming 5-day, 4-night trip. I have booked myself into a Hilton Garden property the 1st and 3rd nights, and a Hilton the 2nd and 4th nights. This will record as four seperate stays, right?

Hanao, the promotion was certainly valid for europeans as well as americans. Some others had success calling the US call centre - I was able to sign up through the UK call centre. Make a few quick calls (one more to Tokyo and then alternatively one to UK/US), as not all call centre agents are fully aware of the correct conditions. You should be able to sign up.

Just signed up for EWRDC. No CC requirement, although the rep says some people have been confused because the promo code ends with 'DC'. This is NOT tied to Diner's Club in any way.
Between this and the return of double-double-dipping, I'm partly geeked about the massive influx of new bonus points, and partly concerned that this "irrational exuberance" will lead to a meltdown in the form of drastically reduced award availability or a Marriott-like point devaluation.

You have to enroll by June 1. The clock starts from the day of enrollment. Though I have got retroactive credit, I'm not sure if it pushes the clock to the first retroactive stay.
I'm personally making sure that all stays are completed within 90 days of first retroactive credit.

I too am somewhat concerned about the devaluation of the points. After all, I've gotten 100,000 plus points in a very short time. Of course, that means I had at least 8 stays in the past few months, which I presume is what Hilton is concerned about.

I am not to worried, I have over 2 Million from all these crazy promotions the best ones came from the United and Diners Club promotions that were a 4 to 1 conversions. I love this program how about 100,000 points for 6 days at a resort in Hawaii. They got started much later than Marriott so have had to play catch up some day they will cut back until then keep racking them up. Remember until recently they only had Hilton Hotels, no Garden Inns, Doubletree, Hamptons Inns etc. When I got started they were run down properties like the Hilton in Baton Rouge and Mobile which neither are Hiltons now. Thanks for all the input.

I need some advice...
I already received my 50k for this promo!
Is this promo good for Gold thru 2/03 or 2/02?
My current gold vip card is valid thru 4/02.
I expect to "just" get 16 visits this year for "real gold", which I expect to get me a new updated gold vip card through 4/03.
I anticipate using a GLON 100k or 150k award sometime in mid to late 2002.
I would much rather put 4 additional stays on my wife's card and get another 50k, but I'm concerned I'll lose my gold status, in which case I'll lose my gold status for a gold vip glon stay in 2003.
Any advice?

If you registers for EWRDC, then you'll be upgraded to gold immediately. Also, from reading this board, it seems that they will give you retroactive credit for stays, so you shouldn't loose any that you would have earned in another gold promotion.
All Hilton properties are included, so whether it's a doubletree or hampton, you still would get credit for the stay. I got my first stay (5,000 pts) at a Hampton.

Not everybody is, sometimes you have to call over and over and over again, some don't see it until the 4th stay. There is a post above from somebody who called five times to get it. You should be upgraded, but Hilton's reps don't seem to able to handle these promotions with very much consistancy.

Confirm cordelli's point. Instant Gold is for new members only. However, if you're a Silver or Blue, you need to call the Service Center and ask politely. For those that get downgraded, it's a simple phone call to have it corrected; it's purely unintentional. My 4 stays were credited (as mentioned by others in numerous posts above) retroactively to April 6; I got mine without leaving home.
Not to digress, but for those of you considering this opportunity for spouses, become familiar with the mutual fund account. My spouse's account and my account remain separate so that each of us can benefit from these great opportunities without conflict. Unless someone has more detailed experience on how such an offer plays out with the mutual fund, I would suggest you maintain separate accounts until you decide to plan for that dream vacation and only then combine resources. [sidebar- The no cost Optima credit card is one of the best offers in the market and, with something like a 7500 point bonus (I know it now pales by comparison to these 50K bonuses) on its initial use, each spouse should apply separately.]

I have to agree with cordelli. I told my father about the promotion, and he called, but his account was not upgraded. He called back 3 days later, and they said they had no record of him calling at all. He asked them to put the promo code through again, and then he was upgraded immediately.
The point is, you are supposed to be upgraded instantly to gold. I was, and two friends were, and my dad finally was after a second call. So if anyone registers with EWRDC, and does not see an almost immediate change in your online status, call right back, and keep calling until they make you GOLD.

Yes (to problem)if you stay at the same hotel and check in and out the same day you will get credited for only one stay. Only way around it would be to stay at two properties, say 2 days at the London Hilton then one day another Hilton, then back to the London for 1 or 2 days and back to the other Hilton again for 1/2 days.

That will not work. It will count as 1 stay unless you have an intervening day when you are not there.
What you can do, however, is switch hotels, and that will work. If you want to know hotels that are close to one another, then try the Mews, the Green Park and the London Hilton. They are at most a 7 min walk from on another.

Shee, and I think of how many months of three-night-a-week stays at Marriott it would have taken me to earn that many points. Even with their 25k bonus, and my platinum status there, I couldn't have topped 11,590 points. Thanks, Hilton! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I signed up for this on Wednesday, May 23 by calling the HHonors Silver VIP desk. The rep told me that my status was now Gold. Later that day, I check online and indeed I was Gold! The rep also said I had to complete four stays in the next ninety days in order to get the entire 50K points.
At the time, I was staying at a Homewood Suites hotel. I was wondering if that stay would qualify for the 25% bonus points given for Gold or the 15% bonus for Silver. I checked online this morning and found that I was awarded the 25% bonus!
On top of that, I was awarded the first stay 5K points on a stay I made in April. Last week's stay qualified for the second stay 10K points!
On another note, I updated my profile twice on April 1 and received two 1,000 points. Then on May 1, I did it again. The screen came back and said that I did not qualify for the points since I had already updated my profile. However, I did get the two 1,000 point bonuses again! Can't wait until June 1!!!
Thanks, Hilton!

Check this out.
05/15/01 - Called the Silver VIP desk and registered for the promo. Later that day, looked online and my status had been changed to Gold!
05/16/01 - Checked out of a Homewood suites after four nights.
05/29/01 - Checked the points awarded for my stay at Homewood. They were a total 14,712! 250 Partner Points + 3,570 Base Points + 892 Gold Bonus Points (25%!) + 10,000 Gold VIP SECOND stay bonus points!
Checked into it and found the 5,000 first stay points were retroactively awarded to a stay in April!
Thanks, Hilton!
P.S. On April 1, I updated my profile twice and got two 1,000 point bonuses. On May 1, I did it again. The web site told me I did not qualify since I had already used the update bonus. However, I was awarded two 1,000 bonuses again! Can't wait until June 1!!!

I signed up for the promotion on 5/24 and received my 50,000 points on 5/29 as the system retroactively credited my 4 stays between 4/9 and 5/10. Wow! What a promotion! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
This allows me rack up a bigger bonus than Silver and flexibility to concentrate on requalifying for Gold in the Starwood program. After August 31, of course as the Double, Double Dip promotion takes priority of course.

Perhaps a stupid question: Do stays at Doubletree Hotels, Hampton Inn and Hampton Suites also qualify for these Super Bonuses or must it be a real Hilton Hotel ?
I am going to Arizona tomorrow and therefore would appreciate a quick reply. Thanks a lot.

I am staying for 3 nights at a London Hilton in July, and then I have to checkout for a day to go elsewhere, and then checking in again the day after. Will this mean it is classed as 2 stays as I am not going to be there for 1 night? Also my parents are also staying at the hotel with me, and while my dad has gold hhonors as well, he has got his 50k bonus already and I still need 3 more so is it possible that hhonors will give me credit for his room as well and count it as a separate stay? Any advice appreciated!

Yes, they count, making it incredibly easy to do this for little money.

cordelli: Thank you very much for being so helpful. It really looks very promising. How will Hilton honor all the upcoming Award requests ? In fact it is not our problem.
Cheers.

You are correct in your assumption that if you have an intervening day with no activity at THAT PARTICULAR HOTEL, that your next stay there, be it the next day or week or month!, will be considered as stay # 2; e.g., Hilton X on Monday and on Wednesday will be considered as 2 separate stays.
Unfortunately, I doubt very much that Hilton will allow you to consider the hotel room of your dad during your stay as a separate stay -- I would not count on that. Of course, you can obtain the points from your dad's room, as well as your own, on one folio, but I would not rely on 2 separate hotel rooms, even if they have your number, as being counted as 2 separate stays.
You have not mentioned, however, in your scenario, what you will be doing on the intervening day between hotel stays, e.g., Tuesday in my example above. If you were to check into another Hilton, etc., then that would be considered stay # 2. Then, checking back into the original hotel will be stay #3.
In essence, it is doubtful that back to back stays at the same hotel, without any intervening day(s) will be considered anything but a single stay, whereas, any permutation of hotel stays at different hotels in a given city or region will be fine, so long as they are not "back to back." Instead at staying at the first hotel for 3 days, could you change hotels to some of the other Hiltons?
I hope this "explanation" has not only confused all the more!
By the way, when do you plan to be in London? I will be at the Metropole with my wife for a convention from 7/17 - 7/20, and then we are checking out to stay at the Langham for one night so we will get 2 separate stays in London. Then, on to the continent and the Hiltons there!

I have completed the 4 stays for the 50,000 bonus miles, and received my new Gold VIP Card, valid thru 2003 in the mail this week.
Need a cheap stay to start the Double / Double's again in June.

Count yourself lucky if you were even signed up today, AFTER the promo had ended. However, to be sure, I would contact another agent a couple of days from now to be sure that it is true.

I believe that many people have received credit for prior stays. Just read around this board for examples.

I had registered both for this (EWRDC) and the BT2YM challenges, but now having completed and been credited for the four required stays, I noticed on my online statement that I am getting *three* separate bonus for each stay.
(Actually, maybe I shouldn't mention it...but I'm curious as to what's happening and whether others have noticed additional "gifts" to their HHonors accounts).

I just signed up today (June 3). The agent told me that I am now gold, and that I am eligible for 50K bonus points if I stay in Hiltons 4 times in the next 90 days. I checked my status on the web and I am now gold (was silver before). Thanks for letting me slide Conrad.

I was able to sign up today. Does anyone know if they ever offer this type of promotion to get to diamond level?
There have been three promotions like these in the past few months.
BY2TM, DCDT, EWRDC.
All gave 50K Points for 4 stays and two comped you to Gold.
So, I guess the answer is NO.

Don't cry too much Bourne, as DTAX and the following, BY2TM, DCDT, were all essentially the same promoe -- i.e., was advised that you could only sign up for one of the three. If you were able to do more, well then, you either got extra points or they are in the process of being removed, as per RoarAhead's recent post.

Any change that some of the "older" promotion codes are still active as well?

I signed up for the e-Rewards promo at the beginning of May. I got the bonus points on my two stays since but when I look at the account on the HHonors website it still lists my status as Blue. Do I have to complete the 4 stays before the status changes to Gold?

No, you do not have to complete the 4 stays to have your status changed to gold. It should have been done instantly when you signed up. I already received a gold card with a 2003 expiration date, and I've only completed 3 stays (of course, so far, I've only received the bonus points for the first stay!).

If y ou read back through the first five pages you will see that some people got it before they hung up the phone, some took four or five additional calls, and some not until they did all four stays. I was in the four stay category, several telephone calls did not work, I was told it had to be after the stays. Don't really know how or why people were picked for when they got it, but in the end I had the gold.

If you stay at a Hilton through a prepaid stay such as a package deal or purchasing through HRN, do you still get credit for the STAY (ie the 5k, 10k etc)? I know no points but how about the stay itself.
Thanks.

Don't know if this helps or not, as there seem to be more different types of rates then they address in the rules:
11. Point credit is awarded only if the HHonors membership number is given during the stay. No point or stay credit will be awarded for complimentary or barter rooms, contracted airline crew rooms, wholesale/tour operator packages or for Stays on NET Group, Series Group or IT Group rates. HHonors Members may earn stay credit toward VIP status when staying at an Entertainment or Encore rate. However, no point credit will be awarded for Entertainment or Encore rate stays. In addition, individual hotels may from time to time offer a deeply discounted promotional rate, available for a limited time. These rates will not be eligible for point or stay credit and will be advertised as such.

It's the newest Latin Pass promotion. Fly/use all the airlines/hotels/car companies that aren't partners with LP. Hope you've documented them all, send them in twice, hope your points post and the partners don't pull out or get taken over and you get 50 million points.

MIKEY, IF YOU ARE GOLD, YOU WERE SIGNED UP WRONG!! THEY SHOULD HAVE PUT IT IN THE PROMO AREA, BECAUSE IF THEY PUT IT IN THE TIER AREA, IT WOULD DOWNGRADE YOU TO GOLD. CALL THE DIAMOND DESK AT 1-877-444-9847 AND HAVE THEM FIX IT. YOU DONT HAVE TO STAY AT GOLD TO GET YOUR BONUS POINTS. DIAMONDS QUALIFY AS WELL..BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT TILL MONDAY NOW, THEY ARE CLOSED ON THE WEEKEND!

I also know there are a number of others that received Gold until 2003 (I've seen their cards). I have signed up for both promos (BY2TM/EWRDC), and qualified for both with the requisite number of stays. I've also called HH CS 3 times now about my Gold being extended to 2003. They tell me NO.

I just called the HHonors service center and spoke with a really nice CSR. I told him I had already completed the EWRDC promo, but since it was extended and I have a lot more stays coming up, I was hoping I could do it twice. He said that since I already completed the promo, it shows in the computer and there is no way to re-register - the computer won't recognize it since it's already in there. Oh well, it never hurts to try.
BTW - he said the promo period ends Dec 30 this year.

I signed up for this promotion in May before the June 1st deadline, but didn't have a qualifying stay until July. If I had known the promotion would be extended, I would have waited until July to sign up. I just called HHoners customer service to see they could extend the 90 days for me and I was told "Absolutely not!". *sigh* It was worth a try.

What promo is BY2TM? Is it something you can qualify for with the same stays as EWRDC?

Aug 6, 01, 11:49 pm
Gwen...the BY2TM promo pre-dated EWRDC. Actually I think they may have overlapped a bit, but that promo ended (for sign-ups) on 4/30 I think.
Same perks as EWRDC...instant Gold + 50K for 4 stays within 90 days.
Therein lies my situation. BY2TM gave me Gold until 4/02 and according to the CSR I spoke with originally I was told EWRDC would give me Gold through 4/03. Obviously some folks got the 4/03 date, but HH now tells me that's not true. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

I got the 2003 date on my card, but it had nothing to do with EWRDC as I didn't sign up for that til after I got my new card. So perhaps 2003 is for some other reason such as Centurion perhaps.
