Anyone else here have a problem with the latest promotion of double base points when using an Amex card to pay for their stays?
I was on hold with them for a bit and couldn't wait any longer. Customer service had no clue how to fix it although they were aware of the promotion.

I've had the same problem. 1 stay posted double points right away and 2 others didn't. I called HHonors Customer Service and was told they would take care of it within a day or so.

Guess what I was told minutes back.
You Amex Double Base Pts bonus does not show up as an entry but your total points are reflecting it. After banging my head against a brick wall, I let go after 10 minutes.
Points difference between previous stay and this one was 1212.
250 AA Partner Bonus + 770 Base Points + 192 Gold Bonus = 1212. Where the heck are they showing up.
After cooling down, called up again( CC Merry-go-round ).
This time I was told by a supervisor that there is a slight delay in posting of the AA Double bonus points. Would take about a week to ten days to post for this stay and further stays. That I can believe.

I had the same problem. The source seemed to be that the first stay showed the payment method as 'Mastercard' and not 'American Express' once this was sorted the points posted.
Unfortunatly, they posted for the chronologically first post, which netted me an extra 4,182 points instead of the chronologically second post (as the rules state) which would have netted me an extra 26,209 points - but what is 22,000 points between friends?
At least I now feel confident that subsequent stays will credit.

I checked my activity total and there is no double points included in that amount. They definitely didn't post for me.

Mine are not showing in the stay activity, but in the other activity section.

I've already complained about this too.
I have yet to have bonus miles or double base points credited to my account for my second qualifying stay (everything posted correctly the first time). A call to customer service resolved nothing.
Also, I checked my FF account today, and I received all regular miles for my 3 stays in June, but I did not receive the 1000 bonus miles I should have received for my two qualifying stays for the promo.

</font>Oh dont fret. If you have been with the program long enough, you should know that these types of things work themselves out in time. No need to contact the customer service center after every stay to say the credit hasnt applied. Unless you want to wait on hold forever. Now if your in September and still having these issues, that is when it is a problem. In the golden age of computers that we are in, its got to be just a system glitch that is preventing these credits to show automatically after every stay. But they will.
Mine got resolved automatically.
They are showing up under "Other Activity Points" like Merry pointed out.
The last stay's points and amex bonus posted together. No delays.

I have a question on how this double points thing works.
I recently stayed at a Hilton. I paid for two rooms with my Hilton AMEX that were both registered under my hilton Gold #.
The total bill minus tax was $1756.
Does that mean that points to my account should be the following:
17,560 - $ times 10 points for Hilton charges
35,120 - double points for AMEX usage.
Is that correct? If so, I'm missing quite a few points. I'm sure they will adjust it, but I would like to know what I am supposed to be looking for. Please advise. Thanks!

always_delayed -- I'm sure you know that this promotion starts to kick in beginning on the second stay during the promo period. If this was your second stay, the double points should be posted on both rooms, including 25% Gold bonus. If your bill was $1756 before tax, you should have received 1,756x10x2x1.25 = 43,900 points (not counting possible partner bonus that is not doubled, e.g., car and air partner, worth 250 points each). Also, have you checked the "Other Activity" area when you log on to your account? Some of those bonuses may be posted there.

OK, very creepy. I just looked at my online statement again and my points just doubled. I am still missing credit from one of the rooms, but I did recieve points under non-hotel activity: 13,??? for AMEX transfer (i guess that's my total charges on the card this month x?) and I also recieved an online bonus of 1,000. Didn't know about that, other then the updating your profile points.. but you get points for booking rooms online? Great!
So, in the end, I am still waiting for points for the other room, but other then that it looks like the double points must be tied into the AMEX points somehow.
Thanks for your assistance! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

always_delayed You may know this, but I found out the hard way that just reserving and paying for two rooms isn't enough to earn you points for both rooms. They must both be on the same folio.
