Digging this up and updating because I have a bunch of left over vouchers from Snaggies, etc and now they are listing hotels for under 75.00 that you can use the vouchers for. Before it was 75 and up. Nice improvement.

Good experience with Hotel Card.
In for 2

YMMV, I have found hotel rates to be much higher on www.thehotelcard.com than what is available for the same hotel/dates on other online sites, thus negating the value of any 'discount'

not always.

I don't like that they don't list hotels under 75.00 but have found the rates to be equal to other sites for what I have checked.

but check before you buy, easy nuff

eh. prices seem comparable, tax/fees seem a bit higher. my experience has been it can be a deal depending on how much you pay for the card. I've paid $12 for the cards and been happy, not sure I'd pay more personally.

Thanks for asking Darben but no, just posted in case anyone can save a few bucks (hotel deals are pretty sparse lately)
and I think referrals can only go in S.P.A.M

I still have 3 or 4 hotelcard codes left from Snaggies. Too many PC points, I haven't needed to pay for a hotel in quite some time ^:)

I find the base fares are similar to what Expedia offers, but the taxes and fees are higher.

T&C:

Limit 2 per person. One Hotel Card per reservation can be used. No hidden charges - just world-wide savings! Expires 09/06/2012

It still did not answer my question.

No. They state "Voucher available 24 hours after purchase." I made my purchase 23 hours ago and am still waiting, but YMMV.

My experience with the hotel card is that the rates are not necessarily higher. I got 2 nights in Vermont, labor day weekend, and the rates were drastically lower than any other website. Maybe hotelscards did not yet update their database - I don't know. But it worked out extremely well for me. I think it's a good deal and good to have a couple of these vouchers on hand. I may buy 2 more.

Bought 2 on July 30th and still have not received email saying order was ready. According to their site this was to happen w/in 24 hours.

Their phone number is a joke, all it does is tell you to email them.

Haha. Yes. I called many times when I had my issue, and it just kept saying email.

Did you go to your deals page at Saveology?
When I purchased I got a confirmation e-mail That stated in part

My voucher is finally available -- it took little over 24 hours. I did not receive an email that it became available, so keep checking your account on their website.

I got the same email as darben got.

It was also a bit tricky to get the website to accept the voucher, to get the $50 off. I believe the way it finally worked out for me was I had to click through the link on the My Deals page (on the Saveology website). Going straight to the hotelcard website did not work for me.

Just as a side note with this Saveology website - I ordered a $10 Subway card for $6.50. When it arrived, it was a $10 Dunkin Donuts card.

They still have some bugs to work out, apparently.

Taxes, fees and bed charges way above - don't like to be charged like a foreign hotel if book a US based one. Never pay for double beds in the US.

I'm able to get these (physical) cards using my Citi Card Extra Cash where I've only browsed, but never actually used.

IIRC, in the past, these went for $25 off using the rebate cash in my account. Seems for a limited time (?), it is possible to fully redeem $50.

If anyone is interested, send a PM.

During my transaction I looked and I was on an HTTPS site and the lock showed at the bottom of my browser. In addition my security is set to warn me if I send unsecured info and I was not warned

Has anyone experienced problems with their website recently? Sometimes the site shows error messages, or even unavailable...

Yes, it was tricky for me. I had to click through the link in my Saveology account, that was the only way I could get it to work.

Service, on the other hand, is great. This hotel card thing is being done by hotels.com. I booked a stay in Vermont for this weekend. Vermont however, got destroyed from Hurricane Irene. There are over 100 roads closed and there was no way to get to my hotel. So:

1. They called me (the hotel card people).
2. They issued a prompt refund for the balance over the $50.00, that I paid.
3. They said that they had no credit vouchers in the amount of $50.00, so they are sending me one in the amount of $100.00 :D (Don't ask me why they didn't just issue another $50 hotel card - I didn't question it)

Yes, I've found the website to be very glitchy in a variety of ways (error messages, only being able to show the first page of available hotels, etc.) and not just recently. Sometimes I just leave the site and come back at a later time. That being said, I've been able to successfully use five of the coupons so far with no problems with the stays themselves.

Mine all gone. Wish I could get more. I am using the Expedia 25 for 50 right now.
Leaving for a month long car trip around the US tomorrow.

If you see the deal anywhere please PM me. Being retired I go through them fast
I see the website says powered by Priceline. Weren't they a travelocity affiliate before?

I think the Priceline thing is new also.... can't remember who they were tied to before but you're probably correct....didn't it say "Powered by Travelocity" or something?

I've got like 4 left from Snaggies, they had a long shelf life.

Ok - will PM you if anything pops up - have a safe trip!

Used one of my few remaining hotelcards a few weeks ago. On checking in, the desk clerk looked at their screen, and said it was a Priceline reservation.

I picked two up from Discover America last year and they both worked flawlessly. Got a great rate at the Hilton London (same as Expedia) and applied the card value with no problem. Even better, I used each for a one-night stay!

Hey Guys,

I want to like this deal but the incredibly limited selections of hotels really cooks it for me. There's ONE location in Atlantic City.... and it's high end.
I think it would be valuable only if you had a specific hotel you were going to stay at anyway that was $$$ and up and the deal was applicable... otherwise it's not so great.

(But thanks for posting, maybe someone can use it)

Aww man, it seems Expedia sold The Hotel Card to Priceline, so now there issint a $75 minimum booking, but the issue is there are much lesser hotels now to choose from.

Singapore for example has only 8 hotels??

This used to be really good for me when I am in places with no large-chain hotels. E.g Ibiza.
Have 5 vouchers left to use by Aug 27!
