My friend is staying at a hilton in a few weeks and I wanted to lend her my card so that she can get herself an upgrade and get me some points in the meantime. Is this possible? I won't be staying with her, does this pose a problem?

The main problem is that the name on your friends credit-card won't match the name on the hhonors card, but in reality this doesn't really matter.
But by doing this you are violating the terms and conditions you have agreed to as a member of hhonors - hilton have the right to terminate your membership and take your points away - don't do it it is crazy!
Why bother anyway, Hilton will comp just about anyone to Gold, just register your friend on-line and then 'phone the service centre and ask them to upgrade your friends account to Gold, if they won't do it the first time just try again until they agree - there are so many comp to Gold promotions out there they normally don't even bother asking for a promotion code.
Of course this doesn't really help you if your real aim is just to scoop some extra points and stays/nights onto your account. That is called fraud.
