Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - Egypt Air/Earning M+M miles

At the end of May I had a return flight with Egypt Air from AMS via CAI to BKK in economy.
On the outbound flight AMS-CAI I received 3.063 miles. After claiming miles for the other 3 legs I got the answer "class not eligible for credit".
All stretches had the same bookings class. Do not know the letter anymore. The boarding card state Y.

Can anybody tell me if within the Star Alliance, airlines can issue tickets with zerro miles for a partner M+M program?
If yes, what could be the cause that AMS-CAI stretch earned 3.063 and the other ones nothing.

Of course this is true.

SQ is an example for that unfair practice. Most of their economy class fares don't earn M&M miles :td::td:

Sq is Even 'funnier': if a single Segment is within certain fare buckets, the whole itin gets 0 miles...

Same here, flew with them mid Sep, "Awaiting verification by partner", my expectations are pretty low.

claim it yourself. My original VIE-CAI-BKK segments from June 2010 still show "awaiting verification" even today, while the manually claimed ones had been added within a few days after I claimed them.

Today after 34 days I finally got my miles for a one way flight I took by Egypt Air in J class. This took 3 phone calls (incl. one to Germany), onw email, an on-line request for miles credit and finally a fax with ticket + boarding pass. On the phone they told me "U class not eligible for miles" even though I traveled J class. I challenged this and offered them to receive copy of ticket and boarding pass. I am guessing it was the persistence that paid off.

Even then I got only the base miles, no bonus. I am definitely sure the miles I got were not worth the cost of the calls and time to follow-up :p

you won't believe - after venting my frustration over FT I got my miles today ... :) Maybe they just do that once a quarter or so?

It is really amazing. The same thing happened to me: I have just checked my account and I found all the flights taken posted at once.

I guess MS dispatch all different mileage earnings in one shot.

Creepy! Big brother is reading your complaints here, and is capable of matching the nick to the M&M account. Now the question is, German or Egyptian big brother? ;)

Wait for couple of days more (around 20 days) and then you will find all the flights posted once and for all :confused: It is very strange but this is how MS does it :(

Egyptair seems pretty bad. Even Aeroflot managed to post my miles to my Flying Blue account a day or two after the flight and they are not known for their service...

With all due respect, why should I give up? Without the creditation of these flights I don't make SEN. ;)

How exactly does the creditation system work? Does EgyptAir just pass on my flights info to M&M who then credit me the miles? Does MS pay Lufthansa for the miles? (hence maybe why they delay sending the info).

I'll give it to the end of the month and then send in my BPs and eticket receipt by mail. :)

I don't suggest for one moment you give up! I simply got fed up, and decided our Mileage Masters could keep their miles ...

I've requested the miles online, and also mailed in the BPs & eticket receipt by snail mail so hopefully they can credit them manually. :)

Is this a problem with Lufthansa/M&M or with EgyptAir? I'm flying LH in Jan and SEN would be nice... ^

6 months later and having the same problem (Egyptair flights to M+M).

Did anybody get their miles already credited? What did you guys do?

I got the miles credited via online retro credit.
MS miles have never posted automatically in my experience ....

Thanks for the quick answers! Currently I am struggling with M+M, because they say the flights were posted to a different program.

As I am currently only a member of M+M in Staralliance I am quite amazed about that comment.

FYI: All boarding passes include also the M+M number and M+M cannot get even the flight dates & booking classes right.

I must say I am quite disappointed about their lack of quality in their customer service as I sent them a electronic request and then a scan of all boardingpasses & etickets per mail (to prove this).
After the second disapproval I called up in Verl and they ask me for a written confirmation that I am in no other program and all data per fax again.

Does anybody know what is happening "behind the curtains" or is this a new scam to keep people from accruing miles from non Lufthansa members?

Boarding passes, E-Ticket were sent the Verl with the right M&M account number on them and even printed on LH paper..

This is quite disappointing to not even get the miles for a fully paid C-Class flight.

I can just warn people as M&M seems to be now scamming people to not credit their qualified miles (at least from not "fully integrated" members)..

Bad customer service, not a scam. They have been having issues (especially with partners) ever since the system "upgrade" some months ago. I took an F flight to Singapore during the change over and it took them two months to credit it (2 e-mails, snail mail, and then a final e-mail) and they finally credited it, and this was done on LH!

I would just be insistent, from other posters it seems Egypt sends the postings by batches and you probably caught the front side of a batch send...

Lufthansa has always posted miles that I claimed, other than a C flight on JJ last December that for some reason showed up on my statement as "passenger not on manifest" which I guess means that because of the usage of my middle name on the ticket they weren't able to match it but it was as shorthaul flight and I didn't deem it worth my effort, I have no doubt if I would have pressed the issue we could have got that one done too...
