(1) generally not, however, I would not take my full household. The size of the handluggage is more what appears to matter. (2) yes, they are.

Thanks for the info. I’m not planning to pack bricks, it’s just that my carry on is about an inch taller than air berlin web site says that they do allow, will that be an issue?

Normally not an issue, although it depends on the airport you are flying from. My bag has never been measured or weighed yet.

Hand luggage will be no problem at these two airports. Check in bag will be weighed.
