Korean Air Skypass - Standby Upgrade Using KE Miles

Does KE allow standby upgrade at airport if KE mileage upgrade cannot be confirmed?:confused:

I have tried that a few months ago on a ICN/BKK flight. Generally they will allow you to pay for an upgrade but it depends on your booking class. Some cheaper Y fares will not qualify even for a paid upgrade. Even if they allow standby upgrade for money, the rates they quoted us were very high - USD 1200 for this 5.5 hrs flight in our case.
