Italy - lake maggiore

looking for things to do around lake maggiore for small kids..
we are staying at the villa carlotta in belgirate so something around here stresa area would be great

I notice you haven't received any replies yet so I will start with some general observations rather than specifics. I was in Stresa early June 2011 for 3 nights. We have no kids but I am sure that the generally flat walking around the lake area will make things easy going. The ferry rides to Isola Bella etc should be some entertainment although I didn't see anything especially aimed at kids. The funicular from Stresa has big carriages that should not pose problems for kids. As an Aussie food in Stresa seemed pretty cheap & the kids will find plenty of icecream/gelato shops!
Guess it also depends on how old the kids are.
