airberlin topbonus - Air Berlin miles with any of the three major global networks?

I am booked in September on Air Berlin JFK - DUS and return. I thought I saw somewhere that you can get miles either with United/Star Alliance or One World? On the respective websites I have not seen any mention of this, apart from One World announcing a partnership for AB from 2012. Did I just make this up in my head to sweeten the pain of flying AB Business Class?

Help?

I don't think you'll get much. If you booked the JFK - DUS flight via the AA codeshare, you'd get something with AA - but if you've booked direct with Air Berlin, you might not get much.

Finnair Plus members can currently earn miles on Air Berlin flights.

Yep.

125% in C and J, 100% in Y and D, 50% in H, L, M, N, T, A, Q, I, O, G and P; 25% in K, V and W.

Only from next year in O/W

So, try to get a status comp (i.e. 20% or 40% bonus)
enroll in AB topbonus
collect your miles

You could end up with enough miles for a short award flight in the O/W network for 2012

Cheers everyone for chipping in. I might still be in the AB program from when I lived in Germany in the early 2000's. But the miles will be pretty useless as AB does not fly anywhere I want to fly when using miles... I guess it will simply be a lost cause...

When AB in O/W, you could redeem your AB miles for an AA flight.
I had a similar problem even involving different routes and class (eco :()

In a case, we got ZERO, NULL...
In the other we got something that in future (1 or 2 yr) can be used for a free flight.
In the middle we got something but not able to use it... but better than having nothing at all IMO

ok, September is gone but even if not in OW yet, you can now collect miles from AB flights in a few OW FFPs.

Examples:
AAdvantage (http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/earnMiles/travel/airlines/airberlin.jsp?locale=en_GB)
BAEC (https://www.britishairways.com/travel/ecpartnrair/execclub/_gf/en_gb#)

I spoke with AA's Plat Advantage desk. Had my ticket been an AA issued ticket I could have gotten my miles, but since it was a Air Berlin ticket AA would not award for it. Stingy!
