I find the Thrifty deal e-mails very funny. Here are some specials from their latest e-mail:

Perhaps these might be deals in some expensive markets. They need to hire some marketing people from Groupon.

I agree that "deals" like these offer little to no incentive to choose Thrifty. I figure they're examples of drip marketing-- excuses to send out periodic communication to keep the brand name fresh in people's minds.
