The Prime program usually costs $79 a year, but if you sign up for the Amazon Mom (http://www.amazon.com/gp/mom/signup/info) program (designed for Moms, Dads and caregivers), you can get Amazon Prime free for 3 months which can be extended up to a year based on eligible purchases.
And you also get 30% off diapers and wipes.

Free Amazon shipping is great. Are the terms of this offer any better than this one: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/s-p-m/1124406-amazon-prime-free-3-months.html ?

;) I haven't confirmed this myself, but this is why I started looking at Prime. I want to sign up after my Netflix is over (plan to terminate at the end of the current period and before the rate hike), so if anyone can confirm, please do. But previously when I had Prime on trial, I was able to get the streaming videos.

T&C say no.
However the T&C also explicitly say that amazon mom is open to anyone (regardless of kid status).

My wife did this too. We ended up getting some Leapfrog stuff for our girls via Amazon instead of Toys R Us ($6 a cartridge cheaper @ Amazon)... She's got it extended out quite a bit.
Atkins stuff is also way cheaper on Amazon too.... You can use the Prime shipping for anything.

Where does it say no (on video streaming)?
This is what I see from Amazon Mom (http://www.amazon.com/gp/mom/signup/info)'s help page:
Current Amazon Prime Members:
If you're already an Amazon Prime member, you can still join Amazon Mom. During the sign-up process, we will offer you the option of either:
a) Canceling your existing Prime subscription and receiving a prorated refund for the remaining unused months left on your subscription, or
b) Staying with your existing Prime subscription (customers who don’t anticipate shopping in the Baby Store frequently may prefer this option)
Note: If you choose option A, you will receive a cancellation e-mail that indicates the amount of your Amazon Prime refund. The Prime shipping benefits you receive as an Amazon Mom begin immediately after joining the program.
It seems to me the benefits you get from Amazon Mom's Prime is the same as the regular Prime since they allow an existing Prime subscription to be substituted by the one for the Mom's.

Hey folks ... I've been using this "free" service for a while now and one cool thing I found out late is that you can share your Prime Membership with someone in your household. You decide how to define household.
I used all of my extended free Amazon Mom Prime months and then my sister signed up. She shared hers with me and we're both enjoying it now for free. There's a place in your account info that you click on to share it.

Didn't know that there even was a diaper.com @:-)
I found the amazon diaper prices better than diaper.com.My sister has triplets and swears by Amazon's diaper delivery - better prices and no more running to the store. The free Prime was an added bonus. (Of course, she's really looking forward to the day they are all potty trained!)
