Sorry to post this here.. but I think the "Asia" forum is a little quiet since there isn't a specifc Korea title...
I'd like people's opinions and recommendations for ICN hotels other than HY. I know KE uses the Hyatt. I will be arriving on KE... would they have any special rates for transitting passengers ? The long layover my choice so KE won't be paying for the room. Current HY rate is around US$280.
I will only have a 12 hour layover.
Thank you

KE also uses a Best Western Premier something hotel, which was really far from the airport.

Personally, even though it's just a 10hr layover, I would jump on the AREX from ICN to Seoul Station and then head 2 stops westbound on the subway Line 4 (i believe) to Myeongdong.
This whole process takes no more than 45 minutes each way.
Once there, the Ibis Hotel Ambassador Myeongdong has great rates and is located very well. You are guaranteed to have 5-6hrs sleep if that's what you're after, and as I said, it is priced very well. A 4 star hotel at 3 star prices. You could always get a taxi back to ICN rather than the AREX if you need the security of arriving back to check in within time.
If you insist on something closer to ICN itself, then may I suggest Incheon Airport Sky Hotel. Basic, but for 7-8 hours it will do the job.
Of course I am presuming you are not collecting rewards points with your hotel choices...

Not sure when your travel date is, but airport rail station at Gongduk(?), which is the stop right before Seoul station, should be connected to Lotte City Hotel (Mapo). The catch is that the station is scheduled to be opened sometime in late 2011.
