Hilton is bringing in the summer with a promotion that is sure to fatten
your mileage and HHonors account. Hilton is doubling the Double Dip.

To qualify for this promotion simply stay once from June 1 through Aug. 31,
and every subsequent stay during the same period will earn double miles. To
earn double points, pay with an American Express card.

We know you are aware of this, but since double miles and points are at
stake, we thought we would double check: present your HHonors and airline
program account number at the time of reservation and check in.

Well, jkzahn, how about getting the free HHonors AMEX card, using it to pay for the stays during this promotion, then getting not only the double points but also get 5 points

Where did you find this information? Is the offer good for the entire Hilton brand (i.e. Hampton, Doubletree, etc.)

once again those that user diners club are out of luck. that is unfair. missed out on triple miles and now will miss out on double miles

Looks like I will change my prefered card on my HH account to the AMEX

1st stay - 5000 bonus points
2nd stay - 10000 bonus points

Jerry...I tried to get the DC promo you mentioned...the agent told me that it was from 2000...and therefore OUTDATED!! Did you know this? Or do you have any new info?

I signed up for the DC promotion on Feb 13 of this year and have collected 3 of the 4 bonuses so far, with my fourth stay coming up this weekend. Maybe I was lucky and they extended it for a couple of months into this year. I learned about it on a post in this forum back in late January.

JerryFF -- The deadline for registration for that DC promotion you are talking about was February 28, with 90 days period (beginning on the day of registration) to complete 4 stays.

OR, if you don't like the HHonors AMEX card, a free Delta Airlines AMEX card is
available. (It's not the one with the fee that they promote heavily. You have to ask for it. Instead of gold or silver, I think it's lead or aluminum, or something. :-) It also has a cheap rate for earning miles, but it is free.)
You actually could spend hours comparing the different AMEX cards available. They all have different benefits, interest rates, grace periods, etc. Delta has 3 or 4 to choose from, I believe.

Does anyone know if this promotion is limited to US issued AMEX cards?
