As promised, here's a seperate posting from a message below about upgrades at Doubletrees.

I'm staying at the Doubletree Guest Suites Orlando - Maingate for 5 days in May. I was wondering if anyone has ever stayed at this property and has any info for me? How about information on a Gold VIP Upgrade? The room I have is a two room Villa, with a kitchen and balcony. The only other room that would be better in this hotel is a 3 room villa, so I'm not sure if I'll be upgraded at all. Does anyone have any information/thoughts for me? I guess it doesn't hurt to ask when I get there..

Any info that can be provided would be great, as I'll be there in about one week. If someone has a horror story or two about the place I might reconsider my stay.. Thanks in advance guys!

Matty-

I stayed there last August and enjoyed the 2 bedroom bi-level suite. I hope you enjoy your stay.. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

If you're a AAA member, for a few dollars more you can stay at the Doubletree Walt Disney World . ($89 vs. $79 according to the Doubletree website)
It's more convenient, being on property, and the rooms are very big. My wife likes the cookies A LOT!! You also miss that Irlo Bronson highway, morning traffic jam. You can also stay at the WDW MUSIC/SPORTS/MOVIE resorts for close to the price of the Doubletrees, I believe, but you don't get a suite. Then you are in a Disney hotel. They are a little gaudy, but not as bad as the Doubletree Club, and you can't beat the convenience. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
