Hilton HHonors - Doubletree Guest Suites DC

Does anyone know if the Doubletree Guest Suites in Washington DC (the one on New Hampshire Ave) is within walking distance of most of the touristy places in DC? I want to avoid having a car there. Also, are there any grocery stores nearby. My wife is diabetic and I want to make sure she has the proper nutrition.
