Hi, I am new to this, but was very frustrated when I stayed with another brand and saw reduced price coupons for the same room I was staying in. I know that most of you fly into your hotels area, but I am a driving customer. I often stop off at the ‘welcome centers’ and they have booklets with reduced prices at many hotels – including Hampton Inns.
I spoke with Hilton Honors people and it appear that if you make a reservation at a higher rate, but present the coupon at check in the hotel should honor it. I drive a great deal and could pick up a bunch of these in my area, maybe others could in their area. I know it might not make a difference to those paying with company funds, but it might be useful to those traveling on their own funds in that area.
Just wondering if it might be of interest to the people posting here. It might even work for ‘resort’ areas (I know that many have it in Gatlinburg, TN – I have the TN discount booklet in front of me).

Check out the Coupon Connection section of the board. They might be interested as well.

all the coupons of this type that i've seen always have one or more of the following disclaimers: "capacity controlled" or "subject to prior sale" or "not valid on prior reservations" or "offer may be withdrawn at any time."

if the hotel is not full, however, they may honor the coupon, but they're not required to do so. you could, of course, cancel your reservation and rebook using the coupon, assuming you've met the cancellation deadline and that they still have room inventory at the coupon rate.

UK Stages -- You are right, fine print usually contains such disclaimers. At the same time, I've never had a problem getting such a coupon honored at the check-in.
