Hilton HHonors - Pleasant discovery: E-mail Confirmation of Telephone Reservations

Just learned today that Hilton will e-mail confirmation information. Got the e-mail about 2 minutes after the reservation was made. What a nice change from waiting for something by mail! Thanks, Hilton.

Indeed, they have always done that but the user needs to explicitly check a box requesting email confirmation, which always defaults to unchecked. Once I have entrusted my email address to Hilton, I cannot imagine ever not wanting email confirmation of a reservation.

I believe the poster is referring to reservations already made (not on the web)... example via toll free number or TA. Call with confirmation number to have reservation info sent to your e-mail address.

Oh, I didn't know that; of course I don't think I have ever actually used Hilton reservations to book a room. I certainly wish UA phone reservations would do the same.

I was speaking of phone reservations. Those have taken weeks to receive(written confirmation). Now it's just a couple of minutes.
