I have recently been informed by Hilton that they issue NO points, credit or miles for stays booked through housing bureaus.
This is extremely frustrating as during major trade shows and events, often the only way to get a room at any major hotel is to book it through the event assigned housing bureau--usually at very inflated prices.
So my question now, is why would anyone stay at a Hilton under these circumstances? For the upcoming Paris Air Show for instance, we can book a suite at a local boutique hotel for half the price of a room at the Hilton. Paying those prices for the Hilton is difficult to justify even if we did receive full credit. If we get no credit, then we can't even consider such a stay.
Does this even appear to be in Hilton's best interest? I am confused.
