Other Car Rental Programs (ie. Alamo, Enterprise) - Rental Car insurance with Discover? ORD Premium cars at ALAMO

Hello
I am trying to rent a premium car at ALAMO (ORD airport), rate is $49.07 (included tax) using costco membership, this was the cheapest I can find at ORD. I am renting it for 2 days.

My questions is, what kind of premium cars do they have at ORD?
Also my rate has one class upgrade, what would be the next class?
Should I get full size and upgrade to Premium?

Also I usually get rental insurance from the rental car company, but I have discover mile card, and I believe it does have rental car insurance coverage but is it really dependable? Last time I was renting a car at enterprise, they said credit card rental insurance will not cover everything.

Any advise?

If I'm correct mist cc rental coverage generally only covers upto full size cars or $25k. I would contact your cc and ask for their coverage in writing.

Enterprise is partially right about credit card coverage. Not all cc has rental insurance built in, but than again they're trying to sell you something.

Yes, you are right. it covers up to $25k, is that mean it will cover minor damage?

That I'm not sure. Best to call your cc company. Some may have a deductible or is only secondary to your primary ins. Amex has a new flat rate ins program for the entire duration of your rental for about $30. Not sure if it's cheaper for you but definitely cheaper if you're going to have the car for a long period.

Without knowing the terms of the Discover Card (we don't have them in Oz!), it's likely it means that if the car is worth more than $25K, they won't provide any cover at all - that's the way Amex works (they tend to cover cars up to $50K though).
