We'll be spending 4 nights in Paris in October. By 'we' I mean a party of 6, and we'll need 3 rooms for 4 nights.

Because I'll wind up paying for everything, I'm looking at using my Choice Privileges points to ease the pain. I'm looking at two hotels that might fill the bill - both are located in the Montmarte district, which I think is rather a cool place to hang out, as well as being just a Metro ride away from the Tower, Louvre, etc.

Right now, looking at the Comfort Hotel Saint Pierre, and the Comfort Hotel Lamarck. All we require is a relatively safe place to sleep, so no lounges, etc. doesn't bother us. Tripadvisor gives both of them fairly decent ratings.

Anyone have any experience with Choice hotels in Paris, especially either one of these?

The Montmartre is a fun area, although not very central. But as you point out, you can get around well using the metro.
My personal choice would be somewhere in the Saint-Germain and an independent hotel rather than a chain-hotel. They have sometimes pretty good rates, even without any points.
Hotel Saint Thomas D Aquin is a great place and very reasonably priced - and it is in the center.

I also like Hotel Ares, close to the Eiffel Tower. Nearby Montparnasse is also a vibrant and fun location.

It is not to deter you from your choice - it is just my opinion.

I can start booking in a few days (Choice has a pretty restrictive award booking policy) and since every hotel in Paris is the same price (in points) my search has widened quite a bit.

Right now, I'm going to try the Clarion Opera Pavillon. If it's not open, then I'll move down the list.
