India - How to book bus tickets without Indian mobile phone

What I need is Udaipur to Ahmedabad. There are buses available to book on Redbus or Make My Trip but they both require an Indian mobile phone#. I looked everywhere and can't find any other bus booking portals. The bus I want isn't within the 30 days yet but I did a dummy run with a bus for next week. The phone field is mandatory and the Indian +91 is pre-filled and no way to change it. I don't think I should make one up because what happens if they text the phone and someone else replies and says they didn't book any buses?

Try asking for help from people at your accommodation. They might just do it with their personal phone for a nominal fee.

you can also book through a ta....let me know if you want me to message you the details of the ta i use....

As far as I can see they dont even check or use that .. its just there and you get your ticket over email

did you try something like 98840 98840 (thats the vodafone customer care number in india)?
