Hi

I'm travelling to Boston from London Heathrow via Iceland on Icelandair in August. I'm interested in trying to get bumped as I have a friend who regularly volunteers for a layover when she flys to Florida (this is with Delta). Does anyone know Icelandair's policy on voluntary bumps? Also any tips on whether it works on this route and how to go about it would be greatly appreciated.

rebeccannjones, welcome to FlyerTalk! As this is specific to Icelandair, let me move this to the Other European airline forum where this airline is discussed. Ocn Vw 1K, Moderator, TravelBuzz.

Why are you trying to get bumped ? What are you looking for ?? Travel credits with Icelandair ???

But to answer your question - I've never heard of this on Icelandair.

If Y is oversold, they upgrade passengers to premium economy or even business. I flew KEF-LHR last month in business and several lucky Y passengers seated in business--but they got Y service, i.e. they had to buy their meals and drinks on board.
