United MileagePlus (Consolidated) - Bad sign for New Milage Plus vs. OnePass Redemptions?

So I am bored at work today, and thought I would look at possibilities for reward seats for a possible Disney trip next summer for the four of us. We have friends in Tampa, so we would fly IAH - TPA. So, I signed onto co.com. I am OnePass Plat.

First flag: Redemption awards can only be booked through Dec 2011 on co.com.

So I looked at flying in Nov of 2011, sunday to sunday away from Thanksgiving week. Co.com shows plenty of availability in Easy Pass (25,000 miles R/T). Looked good.

So I tried United.com. I have no status there (yet). Did a similar search.

Second flag: United.com will let me search though July 2012. This either means (to my mind) that United.com will survive the merger, or co.com stops at Dec 2011 solely due to OnePass ending.

Third flag: Looking at the same week in November as on co.com, United.com was only offering seats for 50,000 miles R/T. Was this solely due to my not having status in Mileage Plus? Or is it a harbinger of things to come?

#1/2 You're doing it wrong. I can book in 2012 on co.com.

OnePass is a dead program on Jan 1st 2012. :(

As for the looking up awards, I don't think they do this more than a year in advance (same with general reservations). Correct me if i'm wrong though.

Hmmmm.....maybe you had a hiccup on co.com but I just checked and was fine trying to redeem awards on co.com for IAH - TPA. I tried 2/12/12 - 2/16/12 and had no issue.

Also, if you are CO Plat, you should definitely match over to UA 1K when possible to help with ual.com redemption.

 I can see dates well into 2012 on co.com - not sure where this is coming from?

Additionally, I see plenty of dates with 25k miles (SaverPass, not EasyPass btw).

I've been searching TPAC awards on CO.com into March / April of next year with no problem, as partner visibility is so much better than on united.com, but I assume things will get worse as the year goes on -- both visibility and availability.

I can see availablility up to June 15, 2012 on co.com. BUT, I can still get 25,000 mile r/ts on co.com, but only seeing 50,000 mile r/ts on united.com. Is this solely due to (non) status with UA?

Link your CO account with UA, then you can see more saver awards

Maybe, maybe not. What airline are the flights on and what cabin/class are they booking in to?

If they are booking into XN on CO then they are elite-only seats. If they are booking into X the UA should see them, though you might have to choose the option to show partner flights which is a different page than the UA-metal flights.

I could always get 25K flights on United MSP ( ORD) to BDL, starting in 2012 they are 50K ( with a few 37.5K) and less flights to choose from.

I am thinking this may be just an issue because of the merger as I could fly First class for 75K

If it's not a temp problem I will be moving to Delta as I can fly non stop for 40K R/T

Unless the OP is a CO Plat with 100K miles he will be matched to Premier Executive, not 1K

Easypass = 25 000 each way, 50 000 return which is the same as you found on united.com
