The local CVS has a discount shelf for liquors they are discontinuing. Among the items they had marked down was Johnnie Walker Gold - at $51.99. I found this to be very good and could not resist. This is far better than at a Binny's but I do not know how it compares with a Costco. Anyone else as impressed as I was?

Anyone else as impressed as I was?Actually have a few CVS near me, so I went in to check. None of them had the discout booze shelf, at least as far as I could tell. Your price didn't seem bad for a blend of 15 single malts. I'll be curious to hear what you think.
I am sure you are correct - discontinuing certain items is a decision made by each store. The price of $52 was 1/2 price - normally $104. ( I can not figure out who would go to a CVS for a $100 bottle of Scotch. )
After I saw this, I checked the locked shelves for Johnnie Walker Blue - if they sold it, it would be only a matter of time before it ended up discounted also. They did not carry it.
Binny's price for 'Gold' is $79 and the best I found online was in the low $70's plus shipping (some advertise free shipping, but it always charged app $15).
As for the taste, almost looks gold, is very, very smooth and a bit fruity. I sip it ice cold. It is very good - it is easy to get into enjoying this kind of Scotch every night.
There are very few reviews of it online, but this one is typical:
