The weekend before last I had a 1-night stay at the SF Hilton. I have an HHonors account but don't stay at Hiltons much. I read here about the Fast Track to Gold and DIners Club promotions and signed up for both just before the stay.

When I checked my account today, I found that I had received 5000 bonus points for the Fast Track promotion, another 5000 points for the Diners Club promotion, and 404 bonus points for being gold - all for a 1-night stay that earned 1616 base points.

Thank you everyone for your great advice and information.

Beware-there has been discussion on this board that Hilton will only allow one 50K bonus program. I hope this is not true. I will be doing 2 sets of four stays in an attempt to qualify for both bonuses. I believe the Diner's promo is generated from Diner's to promote use of the card and should not be considered the same as the Fast Track to Gold bonus. Any feedback Adam?

I wasn't even allowed to register for the D/C promo as the Svc ctr rep told me I was already registered for the fast trak promo.

Ditto TrojanHorse. I got told the same thing. I mentioned that a little birdie told me that I might be able to do both promos, but the agent insisted that, no, I couldn't.

Honestly, two 50K bonuses *is* too good to be true. I can certainly understand why they wouldn't let you do two promos, although people on this board have had mixed results getting both promos to post. I earned 75,000 points on 5 stays, and I almost feel guilty about it (almost).

I was able to register for both promotions, but I waited until I had already completed the first four stays. Then I registered successfully for the Diners promo. My first stay into the the Diners promo netted an additional 5,000 points, as hoped. Perhaps this practice doesn't set off a red flag w/ the CSA's at HHonors.

I have also signed up for both the promos but I havent had a stay yet. My first stay will be at the Catman do Trois in late march and I will let you know if I manage to get 10K bonus points for the first night or not.

I signed up for the DC promo as soon as I got the letter. Did the 4 stays quickly, then called in to register for the Amex promo. I asked if it was OK to do both and was told yes, so I did and just completed the Amex promo. My last stay hadn't posted yet as of when I checked, and I haven't tried to add all the miles up but I think I got them all? If one promotion is for Amex and the other for Diners, why not do both?

My only pet peeve is that I STILL haven't gotten the right gold card! When I got the letter for the DCDT promo, I called in and asked to have them put the promotion on my current HHonors gold account and extend the expiry of my gold status until 4/2002 which was what was on the comp gold card they sent with the letter. They said they would. A month or so went by, and no card. I called in to ask for one and explained the situation and was told they'd send one. Another month goes by, and a new gold card with my correct number comes, but shows expiry of 4/2001! I just wrote in AGAIN about this, and we'll see what happens. Most hotels I don't bother to show the card, but occasionally need it. Ironically, I qualified for a gold card this year without these fast track promos--but still haven't been sent it! So I guess maybe the promos mess it up?

CozumelJen,

I'm just a regular guy who has recognized the virtues of slow-cooked smoked pork, slathered in a tangy, flavorful BBQ sauce, served up on your choice of kaiser roll or sesame seed bun. AND, I like to fly United, stay at Hiltons, and see where the search for the next great BBQ Pork Sandwich takes me. Ah, the allure of the open road and the promise of great pork another day.
