I just qualified this morning, however i still have not given my number to anyone to have as a member gets member deal or buddy system. I have 13 stays and 24 nights so far this year and that is normal. If you can match it and are willing to trade please feel to mail me.

Jon

Now to decide how to spend 300k points

Hilton have this scheem where you can nominate 5 people as buddies. Every time they stay at a Hilton you get 1000 points. I have 4 guys doing it for me. All members of my team. However I have never given out my number so no one benifits from my stays.

I am confused, jongar. How did you just reach Diamond level with only 13 stays and 24 nights this year?

I thought it was 28 stays or 60 nights for Diamond level, 16 stays or 36 nights for Gold level, and 4 stays or 10 nights for Silver level.

Or were you comped? What do yo mean by trade?

I clocked up 16 stays and about 40 nights last year but didnt start till 3 August. I did a deal where I qualified for Gold (16 stays - but i did the by2bm thing as well) and then finoished it off this year. The head of Honors in the UK autorised it. As to trade - if your racking up stays I wouldnt mind making you my buddy, on a recipricol agreement. You earn 1000 points on every one of my stays, i earn 1000 points on yours

Could someone provide a hyperlink, or other information pertaining to the buddy system? I work with a group of people, and there are a number of us who stay at Hiltons throughout the year.

I would love to find out more about this buddy program, but do not see anthing provided in the website.

Jongar, where did you find the information concering this : just phoned one day, and they tola you, Ohhh, by the way...

That is really interesting. But something I do not catch: You name 5 guies, you get 1000 points fro each of their nights (stays ?), and DO THEY receive something ?
In other wrd, what is the deal for this ?

Well the plan I guess is to recruit new members - they get thier normal points. - dont read to much in to this. Just make the call. If your a diamond and want to earn 1000 points every time I stay, at a hilton then drop me a mail

Is this only open for diamond members?

jongar

No but if I am going to buddy up with someone then, they need to be achieving the same kind of stay rate.

There are 4 other guys on my team, all of whom are Diamond, I'm only gold b/c I just joined the team but will go diamond by April.

When I call the service desk do I need to have Names, Numbers, et cetera?

What info will they ask for and any applicable promo codes?

Thx

Can you change buddies as often as you like? If so you could always try to find 5 new buddies at every Hilton Hotel you stay at and earn a bonus of 5K per stay..I wonder if it works..

Jongar:

This buddy system sound alot like Hiltons referral bonus system. However, the referral bonus, I believe, only works in one direction. You earn 1000 points every time one of your new member referrals has a stay. Quite generous if they stay often. They earn nothing when you stay. It may be limited to 5 or some other number of referrals, I'm not sure.

The system you describe would seem to award four people 1000 miles each every time any of the five buddies has a Hilton stay. This would be extremely lucrative if you had a group of really frequent travellers. Jongar, are you sure that what you paticipate in isn't just the regular referral program (which has been around for years but no longer seems to be actively promoted by Hilton)? You say you never gave anyone your number, so wouldn't your four "buddies" just be four people you referred to Hhonors? Were they new members when you added them to your list? Do you know of any pair of Hhonors members who have successfully received 1000 point bonuses for each others stays? I'm skeptical about whether or not you have the details right. This is not meant as criticism or a flame. I just don't want to get too excited about what would be an incredible bonus opportunity unless it is really true.

It does sound pretty lucrative; but maybe I am interpreting the arrangement differently than others.

Scenario. Five people (myself included) list one another as referrals. Taking me as an example, every time one of the other four stays at an HH hotel, I and three others each earn 1,000 miles?

Then, every time that I stay at an HH hotel, each of the other four earns a bonus 1,000 miles? Is this the correct form?

Each of us stays ~ 15 times, or about 60 nights per year (this is actual). Hence, I would earn 15,000 @ 4 people, or 60,000 points per year. Of course, this means that the other four would, too.

The net cost to the HH program would be 300,000 points under this scenario (for the five of us). Is this correct?

jongar,

I'm Gold with 5 stays & 12 nights so far this year - just beginning to consolidate my hotel nights - would be averaging about 12-14 nights staying in hotels per month.
I'd be interested in buddying with you - are you interested ? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Anyone else want to partner ?

you're limited to signing up five (5) people and can get a maximum of 5,000 bonus points from each of them for a grand maximum total of 25,000 points per year.. call hhonors to verify it.. they send you a referral card when you first sign up.. i think you can also call them and do it over the phone as long as you have their hhonors numbers..

also.. do a search for referral and you'll find out a whole lot more on it..

According to Adam Burke (see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum57/HTML/001276.html ),
