I've searched and found a lot of threads here and elsewhere on returning a car early, but most of the issues seem to be when the rental no longer qualifies for a rate type (min 5 days for a weekly rate, Sat overnight keep, etc). And I found 3-4 year old references to a blanket $15 "early return fee" supposedly on the Alamo site, but can't find it anywhere now.
This would be for a 9 day rental, which comes up as 1xWeekly + 2xDaily. Booking with a return a day earlier shows the same rates (just 1x the Daily rate, of course). So the question is, if we return after 8 (or7.5) days, will we:
1) Get the whole rental repriced at some high last minute daily rate, even though it would have qualified for the discounted weekly rate anyway
2) Get the final price reduced by 1x the Daily rate.
3) End up paying the original quote, possibly because the Daily rate is $15, the same as this supposed early return fee.
Does anyone have up to date knowledge (or links to T&C that I can't find) on Alamo's policies?
