Checking in to the Doubletree TUS Reid Park on 2/19 we had a funny time. We checked in late at night, and I hadn't made a reservation, it was a last minute thing. I was met at the desk by a nice young man, Zeus, who was very polite in helping us. I asked him what they did for Gold VIP's there and he said they give cookies. I said yes, I know, but what about breakfast or upgrades. He told me that breakfast was only for silver HHonors VIP's, not golds. I said that made no sense, gold was higher than silver., He disputed this tenaciously. I asked him if perhaps he was confusing silver with diamond? He said no, silver was highest then blue then gold. Maybe that's the result of all these Hilton Conquest promos? Golds are now more numerous and less elite than blue members! Seeming a little flustered, Zeus went on to say that Doubletrees had been bought by someone else now, and he wasn't sure why they were still participating in "this Hilton thing" but they would not be for long. I didn't know anything about this. He did give us breakfast cards and cookies, and he was a very polite young man--I wouldn't want him to get in any trouble for his delightful confusion! And we toddled off happily to bed...

It's funny we need to educate the staff. I understand that these programs and promos can be confusing to a new employee but I believe that Zeus may have resorted to saying something just to try and sound like he knew something, aka BS. IMHO I would have the Mgmt correct that behavior or decipline him ASAP.
