I stayed at the Brasilton for two nights a couple of years ago. Nice king room with a view, great restaurant and a deceent lobby bar made for an enjoyable stay. It was not too far from my customers, but I'm not sure of the proximity to the financial centers. Traffic in Sao Paulo can be horrible.
I've spent the most time at the Hotel Deville at the airport. Nice restaurant and lobby bar, full business ameneties.
Another favorite is the Ibis hotel in Jardim Europa. Close to one of the large malls and several nice restauarants.
Best of luck.
I spent two nights at the Sao Paulo Hilton this week. It's one of the worst hotels I've ever been to, run down, in a dumpy part of town. No Hhonors recognition (I'm Gold, but then again, seems everybody is nowadays), very small rooms, etc., etc. The only good thing to say is that a new Hilton is under construction, in the southwest part of town, a lot more convenient to my business. Unfortunately, it won't be ready for another 18 months.
I stayed two nights at the SP Hilton last year and will not return.
I was 'upgraded' to the Gold floor, but the room appeared identical to regular rooms. I could use the lounge but would have to pay for breakfast - I declined. Part of the problem on arrival was most tables in the lounge were occupied by norteamericanos smoking cigars with feet on tables.
Soon after arriving, I wanted a snack without involving the restaurant or room service - something like a bar of chocolate from the lobby shop. Except there is no lobby shop.
I asked reception where I could buy a bar of chocolate, they recommended going to a shopping centre. Directions to the shopping centre? Go by cab.
But I only want a bar of chocolate - isn't there a shop outside? Yes, but you look like foreign peoples and it isn't safe.
And the view from my 'upgraded' room? - possibly better than on lower floors, but still almost exclusively high rise buildings, neon signs and lightning conductors.
I'm staying somewhere else next month.
