Has anyone had any recurrent problems at this hotel? I have stayed there a few times and have always encountered problems of various kinds. The latest one: I could not get anyone a the front desk to pick up the phone for a wake-up call. For an hour!
I finally had to walk down and yell at them. I am considering writing a letter but I'd like to know if my experience is unique. Thanks.

One word: GROSS. I tried it once, was completely unimpressed with room, service, food and staff. Now I stay at the Marriott across the road, about another 1/4 mile away from airport. Much better.
About writing -- well, if it makes you feel better, do it. Just don't expect/hope that it will inspire any changes at the hotel.

I had good luck at this property last week. The only exception was the high speed internet going down. Upgraded to a very nice room. Staying there again Jan 19. Will see if same luck holds...

I've never stayed there. We use the nearby Hampton Inn and Suites, which is not in a very pretty location, right next to I-10, but is very new and nice. We get upgraded to a suite with full kitchen, but it really doesn't matter as we only stay overnight on the way in/out of ELP if it's too late or early to drive home. I'd heartily reccomend this Hampton for good service and quality of lodging.

I've stayed there several times and found it quite adequate. I've always been upgraded to a nice suite. If the $75 weekind rate is offered it is quite a deal because it includes breakfast. I also will be in ELP in Jan and I plan to go there again.

Ha! As of yesterday I'd never stayed here. Today our DL flight ELP-DFW-HOU was canceled and they sent us to the ELP airport Hilton. We've got a nice suite, facing the pool and hot tub. We had room service dinner and it was really excellent. I heartily reccomend the "Santa Fe style enchiladas." I usually don't order mexican food on the road because it doesn't come close to what I get at home, but this was an exceptional dish. The service has been really good. The lounge unfortunately is only open monday-thursday. Overall, I'm real happy and will stay here again. They have a giant (200 feet) waterslide. It wasn't open when we checked in, and maybe it's closed for winter, or who knows? I want to bring the kids back to play on that when it's open.

Because ELP has so few flights, this is the quietest hotel right on an airport that I've ever stayed at. It's actually MUCH quieter than the Hampton which fronts on I-10.

Responding to other points above: our room doesn't have any high speed internet. Wonder if that's only on the executive floor? We're on the first floor in the poolside suites. I've called the front desk a half dozen times and gotten prompt service, no more than 3 rings, each time. They've been good. So maybe Adam read this thread and contacted the manager... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

To all travelers going to El Paso...I would strongly suggest you to stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites....many times better than the Hilton, which needs to leave the system
