Through July 31, share miles and your friend or family member will get a 50% bonus, up to 25,000 miles for free!
Share 50k for 500$ and get 75k = net 25 K for 2 cpm. Not good.

What trend? For the first half of the year they tried a number of things with buy miles. In April it was buy/gift 50K miles at half off if you have the credit card. Before that it was an automatic 75% bonus on buying only and an additional 25% came from installing and using the DM Toolbar. In January, people who bought miles the previous year had an offer to buy 50K at 40% off.
Those oddball promos were before the 100% bonus for everyone that just ended. I don't particularly see a trend. Just more games.

Meh. The 7.5% tax plus the $30 fee on sharing (which isn't charged on gifting / buying) makes this 2.27cpm. That's a nice discount off the standard purchase rate of 2.94cpm (tax inclusive). But meh, we all agree that's complete crap.
It's less expensive to buy a mileage multiplier on a refundable ticket - those miles post immediately - and cancel the refundable ticket. You keep the multiplier miles since that fee isn't refundable and that hovers anywhere from 1.9cpm to 2.2cpm on tickets I buy. Not that I buy the multiplier - I just do the math every time in case there's an IT foul-up and it offers me triple miles at under a penny some day!

If there are two orphaned accounts with 2000 miles each that want to gift me miles - will I get the 50% bonus on both transfers? Or just one? The current promo rules dont mention anything about this being a one-off transaction per account like some previous promos had done.
Has anybody successfully been able to get the bonus from two gifts (totalling under 25k of course?)
