Dang! I thought DL never start own codeshare partnership with WS. Why DL never announced the codeshare & FF program. They didn't consider it to start new codeshare service in Canada.

Westjet was talking with several US airlines. AA just happened to be the one that worked out.

I am curious how this codeshare is working out for WS? What I often see on Airfare Matrix is that WS/AA offer the highest fares on a given route. For example, YOW-ATL is currently $656 r t a i, versus $464 on Delta! (so much for WS being the low cost carrier!)

Not sure where you are getting the prices exactly, but if it is from ITA's matrix website, it isn't doing a very good job in pulling relevant fares. Also not sure what dates you looked at, but for the week of 4 Feb the westjet.com offering (codeshared with Delta) are generally $279 or $258 before taxes ($376 or $354 including all taxes, etc).

Oh boy, and I booked United to Sacramento yesterday. I would have happily used WestJet and paid a little extra, but they didn't offer that! But then again, having checked the website: It seems that those codeshares to Sacramento are not available from/to any WestJet airport east of Winnipeg. I wonder why.

As for Albquerque, WestJet did offer that for at least several months already - but the price was far from competitive.
