Gardyloo Jul 1, 11, 11:16 am Hi all, easy and silly question - is the bridge between Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA a toll bridge? I seem to find conflicting information online.No. There are 2 bridges, one on I-5 and the other on I-205 out by the airport. Neither is tolled. YVR Cockroach Jul 2, 11, 10:55 am There's very few tolled bridges on the west coast (and no tolled highways?) IIRC, just the handful around San Francisco/Bay Area and now WA 520 between Bellevue and Seattle. zippyh Jul 2, 11, 11:54 am They haven't started tolling on the 520 bridge yet. They're claiming starting in August but I wouldn't bet on it. SaigonCyclo Jul 2, 11, 1:49 pm There are two toll bridges east of Portland (Bridge of the Gods and Hood River bridge). Gardyloo Jul 2, 11, 4:18 pm And the Tacoma Narrows. BLI-Flyer Jul 2, 11, 11:48 pm And the Tacoma Narrows. You mean "Gallopin' Gertie?" (I know, there's a new bridge . . . but this video is pretty impressive.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-zczJXSxnw KoKoBuddy Jul 3, 11, 2:55 pm There's very few tolled bridges on the west coast (and no tolled highways?) I don't know if you count NV as west coast, but in that state there will soon be toll roads as well. The governor signed a bill last month allowing for toll roads in the state. seaduck79 Jul 3, 11, 3:23 pm And the Tacoma Narrows. Yup. The 520 will start tolling as soon as the agency the state hired pulls its thumb out, and the Narrows bridge has tolled for awhile. It's $4 cash, or if you use the bridges more than rarely, you can buy a pass that only costs $2.75 per trip and lets you drive past the toll plaza. |
