Are all of you who are getting excited about this promo residing in Europe? That's the first qualification requirement listed in the T&Cs above, yet the person who posted it it says is based at EWR and the person who replies it says participates (only?) in UA, which implies both maybe US-based and if so would appear to not qualify for this promo.

Important observation. Im not planning of using the promo, but posted for public interest. However I do reside in Europe at the moment. Important is probably only the adress you put on file.

Shhhh! We have lurkers. ;)

If the property requires a credit card for a reservation, the Member is a no-show, and the hotel charges his/her credit card for the first night of the no-show stay, the Member will receive points for such night as if he/she had stayed.

So, what do smart people do with 60K? US Airways?

Shame about Super 8 China not participating, though... that would have been a real windfall.

The TOC for this promotion states that members must "complete their qualifying stays by September 30th 2011". This implies that the member must occupy a room at the hotel, not just book and subsequently cancel the booking, to obtain the bonus.

no, doesn't work automatically. the manager over there is a jerk. i informed him by email about the facts (i.e. hotel stay but no show for points). he does not answer emails, he is never there when one calls etc. i then placed a complaint with wyndham customer service about the fact that the manager doesn't answer. the contacted him. i got an email from the hotel "no show=no points but credit card charged". placed another complaint with wyndham customer service. hotel wrote back (rater unfriendly this time) and confirmed that "what I am planing would work". no points, no stays on my account. the solution: one must follow-up with customer service two weeks after check-out @:-)

Yes please have a look for all of us as this is indeed a common system error and is not individual.

I suspect this has something to do with the 'book by 31st August' setting in your promotion system. My stays prior to 31st Aug all posted swiftly together with the bonus as soon as the 2nd stay is posted to the account. And all of a sudden, my 4th stay posted without triggering a bonus, and it had a stay date of 4th Sep.

Just some info points to help you investigate. Hope it wouldn't be too complicated to reinstate the promotions back into members' accounts for them to reappear under promotion tracker.

Thanks so much for everyone's patience. Couple of updates for you all:

2. If you stayed in the past couple weeks, there may be a slight delay in bonus points posting for this promotion.

Thanks for your clarification. However, I have received a different response from customer service after I submitted an enquiry on your website, this is slightly worrying as what a CS agent is advising is completely different from what you have assured us, please confirm that what she is saying is incorrect. Here is the original response:

Thank you for contacting Wyndham Rewards®.

To qualify for “Stay twice and earn a free night” promotion, the member must reside in Europe, enroll in Wyndham Rewards program, and register for the promotion using a valid email address.

The member must book and complete two (2) separate and non-consecutive night stays at any hotel(s) participating in this promotion at qualifying rates between 1 July, 2011 and 31 August, 2011; and must complete their qualifying stays by 30 September, 2011. This means if you check in on an extended stay before 31 August, 2011, you must check out by 30 September, 2011 to be eligible. Stays with a check in date after 31 August, 2011 are not eligible for bonus points.

Members who qualify for this promotion will receive a bonus 15,000 Wyndham Rewards points (in addition to points earned on stays), to qualify for a free night stay* at the hotels participating in this promotion.

Availability of rooms vary from hotel to hotel and exclusions apply. Members who check-out after 30 September, 2011 will not receive any promotion bonus points.

Members earning miles will receive 15,000 bonus points on their account.

Rates offered by most on-line travel agencies and certain other rates such as wholesale, group, packaged and employee rates do not qualify for this promotion. Please check before booking. All consecutive nights at the same hotel regardless of check-ins or check-outs count as one stay. Members are entitled to a maximum of four (4) free night stays* (i.e. eight (8) non-consecutive night qualifying stays).

Members should allow six to eight weeks after completion of registration for the promotion and the two (2) qualifying stays for the bonus points to be awarded.

If you have additional questions, please contact Member Services at 00-800-367-87477, or via email at customerservice@wyndhamrewards.com.

Our Member Services hours of operation are Mon-Fri 9:00 am to 12:00 am EST, Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am to 10:00 pm EST.

My response to this email is:

Thanks for getting back to me.

However, what you are quoting me is incorrect and inconsistent with the original terms and conditions of the promotions. As per the Ts and Cs for the European Free Night promotion as attached, the period between 1 July 2010 and 31 August 2011 is defined as the 'booking period' and there is no mentioning of members must complete stays during this period, rather any stays that had been booked during the 'booking period' and completed by 30 September 2011 should qualify and earn the 15,000 points bonus. And there is no statements that stays with check in dates after 31 August 2011 are not eligible.

My promotion is back, still no points, patience is my middle name.. ;)

Even though i have a European account, the site directed me to register for the new US promo.. i can see more trouble coming my way.

I think that a rewards program should be less stressful.. Due to the complications, i had to cancel 2 of my reservations with Wyndham and place my stays to another chain, where at least i know what i get in advance. Still have another 2 stays next week that i wish i will be able to complete if these problems are taken care of.

Just mention the above, to emphasize that there is a cost for the hotel chain as well from this unpleasant situation..

Can you elaborate on this? I'm wondering if people who had early Sept stays (that posted while the promo was shut off) have gotten their promo credits posted automatically, or if it's something that must be called in and done manually by Wyndham Rewards.

Anybody here with any experiences in this regard, either positive or negative?

The reason I ask is that a family member had some early Sept stays (that were booked in August and who was was registered for this promo) and I don't know if I should push them to call in and get their stays fixed or if they will automatically be fixed (or ALREADY have been fixed) by Wyndham Rewards. I have 8 stays posted from late Aug to mid Sept+. 7th stay on 16th, where first bonus kicked in. Now I also see tracker with 2 of 2 (the bonus that posted) and a new tracker line with 1 of 2. Seems like a delay in updating tracker and then bonus.

I wouldnt call yet. Save the hassle.

Did you call the hotel in advance to ask politely that they credit you the night?? @:-)

Also why did you pick those Hawthorns? What rate and rate plan?

This should get resolved.

I'm sure that you know better than me, but my limited experience has taught me that there is nothing obvious with loyalty programs..

A phone call would not have helped. The problem with El Paso and Addison is that are not willing to give the points. Neither is Wyndham Rewards willing to help. Avoid them in the future, they are dishonest, bad organised and not trustworthy

Thank you, Wyndhamrewards 2, I will come back to you soon via PM.

I figured out if somebody is missing a no-show stay from El Paso: Send them an email (mailto://mnava@hawthornelpaso.com), ask for a invoice (pdf) and send it then to Wnyndham customer service @:-)

That is, if anyone is actually crazy enough to WANT a free night in the properties this company runs. From the miserable Ramada Limited in Bishop, CA that is filthy, rude employees, lies about its features to inflate its ratings on Hotwire and Priceline, to that Days Inn somewhere off the highway in Oklahoma with mouse traps in the rooms that felt like a place that rented rooms to truckers and lot lizards by the hour...

I'd rather sleep in a car than most of the properties covered by Wyndham Rewards.

I nearly forgot about that Days Inn in Bishop, CA with no hot water, no wi fi (advertised they had it) and that awful rotten meat smell in the office that permeated to the rooms somehow despite the exterior corridors.

This company needs some standards. Motel 6s are better than these lower tier things they run. A shame really. I stayed in some Wingates and Radissons a few years ago that were real nice places, but after staying in these Days Inn/Ramada/Super 8 dives I would not touch the properties this company licenses if I could avoid them.

Actually it's not a free night!! It's 15000pts that can be used towards very nice hotels or the most generous miles transfers among any hotel chain..

They had a sweep this night.

I got my final 3x15k.

However GF who had the first post same time as me, then later for some reason got the 2nd, has still not gotten the 2 lat ones.

We used same hotel approx same dates.

But this just shows the bonuses are coming.

T&C; Members should allow six to eight weeks after completion of registration for the promotion and the two (2) qualifying stays for the bonus points to be credited to their account.

Wyndham lurker, any idea when you do more sweeps?

I have to admit that I've never spend to much thought on Wyndham properties until September but after the last two promos that worked out great for me I certainly will keep my eyes on any upcoming promos.
