Alitalia MilleMiglia - Does booking on US site incur foreign transaction fee?

Hello all,

I'm about to book my first flight on Alitalia, and I was wondering if booking on their US website with a US credit card will incur a foreign transaction fee? I'm assuming probably not, but there is a lot of Italian boilerplate on the site which makes me unsure of where the transaction is processed.

I called their customer service, but either I was unable to explain my question clearly or they were unable to understand my question. :(

No - simply because your payment will be made to AlitaliaUS, hence no extra fees. When booking flights on alitalia.co.uk, my Amex statement would normally show AlitaliaBedfordGB or something like that.
