I have 40 nights on my credit for this year and will start a 22 night stay at a Homewood Suites starting Dec. 26th. Will this make me Diamond for 2000 or will count as a 2001 stay?

My experience is that it is check out date. I say this because I didn't receive my 4000 month 4 stay in a quarter credit b/c my stay ended in the subsequent quarter. I stayed 26 nights of which 20 were in the last 20 days of the third quarter and didn't receive credit for them. It was the Embassy Suites so who knows if stays at Hilton Hotels are different. You could always check out for a night at the time of qualification.
