I guess the exchange rate depends in the country where your Amex is based.
In Spain is 15 MR = 1 IB point, and currently they are running a promotion with 10% extra points.

Regarding one-way awards, I do not think it can be done or the redemption rate is very bad(ie 75% of a return ticket), but others here will be able to advise better.

Im not 100% sure about this but one way redemptions are only permitted on IB/BA flights but as saviox said the rate is about 75% of a round trip.
I've tried a few times to redeem award tickets online operated by other Oneworld members and the system didn't show the one-way option.

IB OW one way redemptions are possible, they are based in total mileage...you can check ow redepmtion chart on IB site, of course availabilty for each leg is mandatory to issue the ticket, this can be done trough IB plus phone line not on-line.

For US MR AMEX cards tranfer is 14-1 instead 15-1...

lol, 133k for a 1-way F award. That's even worse than the usurious 120k BA would charge. I'm going to stick with *A.
