Mexico - any feedback on Iberostar Grand Paraiso?

Has anyone stayed at the Iberostar Grand Paraiso in Riviera Maya?
Just looking for advise for airport transfers, Mayan Ruin tours, etc. or general feedback.

You might consider driving yourself in Mexico, it is not that dangerous. The price will be less than taking the transfers together and a big benefit is that you arrive at the sights before the groups are there.

We just returned from a week at the Maya. 6/30/11 -7/5/11 went with Mr. Iberostar but was booked with travel Impressions which is owned by Amex. all went well but you do go shared van while they drop off other pass in other hotels. Renting a car is viable and safe but if the car is going to sit at the resort/hotel why bother. I/we speak the language but would not (currently) drive around at night. A few years ago no problem. just not now. During the day your fine. Again, if your going out of the hotel/resort to tour rent a car but if your staying best to get a transfer. IMHO.
