Hilton HHonors - Does Travelscape-Hilton reservation qualify for Double Dip?

Hi folks,

Subject says it all.. on the Travelscape website I happen to find a rate that is a bit (ok, about 35%) cheaper than the standard/rack rate at a Hilton in SMF. So I booked it. The website doesn't mention anything about this stay not qualifying for HHonors point, etc etc. The confirmation number I was given doesn't look like the regular Hilton confirmation #. It doesn't even mention if the stay is a bounceback or weekend rate (the stay is for a Tuesday night)

Would this stay qualify for Double Double Dip?

Thanks in advance!

Jamester:

I have booked rooms at a variety of Hilton properties from a variety of sources and some at significant discounts. Since they made the change sometime last year to count leisure rates instead of just business rates, I have never had an issue getting both the stay credit and the points posted to my HHonors account.

I insert below the language from the Hilton site's "Terms and Conditions"... since it doesn't specifically address source sites e.g. travelocity, travelscape, etc, one can't be definitive. For confirmation, I'd email Adam Burke - our customer service manager/angel at Hilton.

6. Qualifying "Full Point Credit Stays" are those at all rates except Wholesale/tour operator packages, contracted airline crew rates, or as otherwise specified in item 11, below.

11. Point credit is awarded only if the HHonors membership number is given during the stay. No point or stay credit will be awarded for complimentary or barter rooms, contracted airline crew rooms, wholesale/tour operator packages or for Stays on NET Group, Series Group or IT Group rates. HHonors Members may earn stay credit toward VIP status when staying at an Entertainment or Encore rate. However, no point credit will be awarded for Entertainment or Encore rate stays. In addition, individual hotels may from time to time offer a deeply discounted promotional rate, available for a limited time. These rates will not be eligible for point or stay credit and will be advertised as such.

Oh yeah, you're right...non-rack rates now qualifies for DoubleDouble Dip since they included Embassy Suites, Hampton and Doubletree chains in HHonors.. I guess I was reminded of my el-cheapo rate at some obscure Hilton a few yrs back when I was denied credit.

Thanks for the reminder, svpii! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
