Hilton HHonors - Doubletree refused me HHonors points

I stayed at the Doubletree Monterey last weekend, and upon trying to get HHonors points they informed me that they were independently owned and didn't participate in HHonors. Is it worth my raising a stink with Hilton (or with Doubletree)? This stay would have qualified me in one of their current promotions.
Chances are the person at the front desk was in error.
If you stay at a Hilton, you get HHonors credit.
I would send a copy of your folio to the HHonors service center for credit (don't forget to include airline FF#).

Well, we asked when making the reservation, checking-in, and checking-out, and they held to the party line. Nonetheless, it seems unfair, so I will pursue with HHonors.

You should get credit once you submit.
I would complain to Hilton Corporate in Beverly Hills once you get it posted.
You should not get this kind of treatment from a property that is affilliated with Hilton.
The "not participating" statements you are getting are just plain unethical. I would not be surprised if Hilton corporate took away their franchise if they knew how they are treating their new guests.
At any rate, I am confident that you will get credit. Do you see anything on the below link that says they do not participate?

I had the same thing happen to me at the Monterey Double Tree. Apparently they are independantly owned and still in negotiation
over their participation in the HHonors program. I had to call HHonors customer service and they posted the points right away.

My comment the one time this happened was (in my very best Julia Sugarbaker adaptation): "well I can assure you that Hilton customer support WILL stand behind this stay, and whether you as the manager of this specific property believe that you have some say in the matter is irrelevant. All your statement has done is to assure that I won't return to this property. Now.. I do, however, need to document your name so that I can propertly report how you have failed to deliver Hilton's commitment to service".
Needless, to say, I was correct - Adam and staff immediately posted stay and I received apologetic letter from the Doubletree in question.

I stayed at that hotel a month ago, same story. When I came back home, I faxed the receipt to HH and the points were posted within 16 hours.
