Hi, we are taking Singapore airlines to Perth and will be bringing along our bulky twin/double Mcclaren stroller along. May I know if anyone ever faced problems with twin stroller on singapore airlines? Thank you.

What kind of problem are you asking about?

My children are 2 and 4 years respectively, so I am concern if they will allow for the bringing of a twin stroller on board, in particular, the older child is already 4 years of age. Thank you.

I'd guess you'd have to gatecheck it, i wouldn't think you'd be able to take it on board, but you shouldn't have a problem i would have thought it'd be fine :) On the flight i took on Tuesday (admittedly with VS not Singapore) someone had the Phil & Teds double kit and that's bulkier than the maclaren

Hi fredandgingermad, thank you for sharing. I guess I'd better include it's weight as part of the allowance for check in luggage, just in case. Thanks again for sharing what you observed.

According to Singapore Air's Website a collapsible stroller per child is carried free of charge, so i'd hope that a double would count, afterall who carries two single strollers!

You won't be able to bring it onboard; there's no place to put it. You should be able to check it.

Hi, fredandgingermad and 6rugrats, thanks for clearing the air for me. I will have to weigh my options between bringing 2 single collapsable strollers or go ahead with checking in the twin stroller, pending if I may bust the baggage allowance!

Do you know if they allow single stroller for 4 yr old child, my elder one? As there's quite a bit of walking around in the city, we thought having a stroller will be better. Thank you.

VS allowed me to carry a stroller for my own 4 year old so i wouldn't think you'd have a problem, having the double may be easier all round!

We were flying five times on SQ with our twins between FRA and SIN return. Our twinstroller is similar to the McLaren. We never faced any problems to bring it along. You will have leave the pram near the aircraft door (they will put into the hold) and you will recieve it back somewhere between the aircraft and the gate (location varies from airport to airport so check with the crew while disembarking). The stroller will be tagged during check-in, but the weight will not be deducted from your baggage allowances. Theoretically you will have an baggage allowance of 10 kg for the infant. We usually called Singapore Airlines in advance to extent the allowance to 20 kg, which was granted for free.
Our experience to fly SQ with kids is extraordinary good, you get a sort of VIP treatment.

I had a problem on AA last week. They recently changed their policy to not accept strollers over 20lbs at the gate, they have to be checked in.
I have three children, including twins under 2, and it is impossible to travel without a twin stroller with the 3 kids + 2 adults.
I have written to AA to express my concern about the policy and to tell them I will not be able to travel with them if they do not change it.
I don't know what other airlines are doing, but don't be surprised if they follow suit, though personally I don't think it makes sense.

I'd heard of the AA policy change, it wasn't clear however if it was 20lbs for a single stroller or a double, sorry to hear you had problems
