Hilton HHonors - Norfolk, VA Airport Hilton (Avoid It)

All I can say is STAY AWAY.

This hotel is in desperate need of a major renovation.

1. Outdated worn furniture (terribly old bed).

2. Broken or slow elevators.

3. Poor heating system.

4. Small old TV's.

5. Filthy carpeting/bathrooms.

Need I say more?

The staff is friendly though. However, when I checked in I was told "you have been upgraded to the executive floor because of your Gold HHonors status". The front desk person was in error.... I actually paid a rate that was confirmed for the exec. level.

And, oh btw, I am Diamond, not Gold (evidently the hotel had an old profile from three years ago before I earned Diamond).

Can't say enough bad things about the Norfolk Hilton. Stayed there recently with my wife. Had to wait nearly 2 hours after check in time to get our room. First three rooms had the smell of death and were completely unacceptable. All of the staff were new and really weren't educated on policies, procedures, etc. Only good thing is that they were very friendly.

From what I read, I wonder if the staff would be so friendly if they had to actually stay there a night or two.
