Finnair Plus - Finnair callcenter blunder. Thoughts for advice

Hi,

Since I have a few points expiring in 3 days and I needed to take a flight anyway I gace Finnair a call to find out if they have any upgrade availability from London to Helsinki on that day - preferrably the evening flight. Talked to a lady and she said - no problem availaibility is there. Since I was on a "payment screen already - i told her - wait for me to press submit and let's process the upgrade. 1 minute later after the flight was ticketed - she told me - sorry no can do, the award availability is gone. I will call you back in 24 hours. Since then - silence.

I could have taken an earlier flight if necessary...

Should I try call again and ask for a supervisor or what's the best call of action?

I would try again and pray for someone else to answer. I've never had such a problem though, always been possible.

Have you asked if they can cancel the ticket? It's usually possible even with non-refundable fares if you do it within 24h.
