Hello guys,

I'm new here
Let me introduce myself.
Name : R. Rendy Purwidyaputra
Education :still in undergraduate level
University : Bandung Institute of Technology
Nationality : Indonesian

Now, i'm doing some research about my final projects in Aeronautics and Astronautics Program.

I do research on how KLM frequent flyer programs will effect Garuda frequent flyer programs, as Garuda join Skyteam in late 2012.
Especially for route: Amsterdam - Singapore - Cengkareng (connecting flight) and
Amstedam - Singapore - Denpasar (connecting flight).

Amsterdam - Singapore : by KLM
Singapore - Cengkareng : by SQ and GA (connecting flight)
Singapore - Denpasar : by SQ and GA (connecting)

Result show that Garuda's market share only 1/3 from SQ market share in that route.
I knew that quality, safety, etc, will influence all of airline preference.

But i really wan to know, if Garuda join Skyteam next year, will frequent passenger more considering to choose GA instead of SQ (in case that we can redeem KLM miles point on GA, lounge access, etc)?

I know i don't have anything to reward all of you, but i can guarantee that i'll pray for your safety landing.
:)

By the way, sorry if i have bad english
hehe

Warm regards,
R Rendy Purwidyaputra

In taking Garuda, we do need a lot of prayers in order to have a "safety landing". So your offer to pray for passengers taking Garuda is a great reward by itself. BTW, if you do read the Garuda inflight magazine, there is a prayer inside the magazine where you basically beg God to allow the plane to land without incident.

These prayers are common under carriers of Islamic countries. IIRC on Etihad, Gulf Air, Saudi Arabian, these prayers are prayed before take off.
