Sofitels in Quiberon, Brittany (France)
Both Sofitels in Quiberon as well as the Thalassa-centre there closed for renovation last year. Reopening was planned for early may this year, then june 11th and has now been - on the Accor-booking-site - postponed to august 11th. Has someone more informations on this? As summer tends to be shorter in Brittany, a postponed reopening in mid-august must perhaps have some reasons.

I don't think there is any reason other than they are late in the renovation process, which is bad as they will miss most if the summer season.

There was a fire on a portion of the roof in May and this has probably delayed the whole renovation process.

Thank you FM. I only came across a TripAdvisor-report of someone being very angry, who had to cancel prepaid flights and car hire due to the delay. Luckily it was not me. Nevertheless, I was already wondering why there was no press-statement on the Accor-website on the "wonderful, brilliant, gorgeous (fill in what you like) reopening of this renovated privilege Thalassa" - now I know the reason for that.
