Arrive 8pm on a Sunday night after a 15+hr CX flight and leave Monday afternoon at 15:50.

Interested in people's thoughts / suggestions for this one night stay given the arrival/departure times and the length of flying East to West before arrival

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

Marriott SkyCity and Regal are the airport hotels. where Novotel is easily reachable on a hotel shuttle bus (or a short cab ride)

Alternative if you don't mind a round trip on airport express or taxi, you can check Royal View Hotel / Panda Hotel (however if u are booking one room only the taxi fee (oneway 180-ish) may kill the saving

If you are planning to see the city, then there's no reason to stay near the airport. Easy to get to the city by train, bus or taxi (depends on budget and location of your hotel).

HKG is a bit unusual in that the airport hotels aren't much more convenient to the airport than going into the city. There are several hotels built on top of the airport express stations (e.g. W in Kowloon), and hundreds within 10 minutes of the train at all price points. So much nicer and often cheaper to go into the city than to stay at an airport hotel, even for a 12 hour transit much less a lavish 15 hours.

Except you want to sleep for 15 hrs., I would definitely recommend staying in the city, rather than at the airport. The Airport Express takes you 30 mins max to Tsim Sha Tsui and you will find plenty of hotels there, most within 10 or 15 mins. from the AE station, as a previous poster has already mentioned.

Please also note that you can check in at the Airport Express station when starting your onward journey. There's no need to carry your luggage to the airport.
