Thanks for all of your insights on my camera purchase. After returning my Vivtar Today I did some research online for about 5 hours yesterday.
I found the GE X500bk camera which got awesome reviews on Amazon and on other websites.
This camera is a bridge camera with 15x optical Zoom, 16 Megapixles along with manual and automatic controls. I got a bag and 8GB SDHC Card from SanDisk for $155 total on Amazon.
The camera has an optical viewfinder,LCD and other cool features including Blink Detection, Face Recognition. The ISO goes up to 3200 and you can set the aperture on it too.
Everyone loves the quality of the photos and with Photoshop I can enhance the photos with ease.
I am happy about my purchase and will enjoy those closeup shots of planes, scenery and family events.
Furthermore I like how it takes recharagable AA batteries and good video and up to 16GB memory card.
